We went to a special exhibition at the Art Gallery, displaying a collection relating to the sea and associated myths. In one corner was a screen playing clips and trailers from sea monster movies. Try the original For You: bsky.app/profile/spac... Context: the fu algorithm is heavily inspired by For You. See github.com/eurosky-soci...

I enjoy the @eurosky.social "fu" (For You) feed, most of the time. It shows me a lot of stuff that's relevant to my interests that I might have missed or otherwise not see. But every now and then, it completely flips and shows me nothing but garbage American political memes and becomes unusable 😩

Ah, *that’s* where my neighbour’s gazebo was going! (yes, the fool really did leave a large gazebo in his garden despite all the storm warnings)

Looking out the window at the sunny skies and thinking it would be a great day for priming models… if it wasn’t for the 40mph winds!

This BBC model-making video from 1990 popped up in my YouTube recommendations, and I figured some people I know on here might appreciate it youtu.be/ymYJ2VVRnWg?...

@pictcon.bsky.social is now half way to breaking even for 2027. Do you live in Scotland or near enough that a one day science fiction and fantasy convention (with an optional dinner the night before, for early arrivals) appeals? Just £30/£20!- we just need to sell 26 more tickets to be on target!

phew im glad nothing important runs on php

Just ordered a bunch of 28mm historical minis from @northstarfigs.bsky.social because I’ve been really enjoying building and painting the starter set for Pillage as a break from anything Warhammer-related. My head is suddenly filled with silly ideas of recreating my Manor Lords save on the tabletop

I renewed my Apple Developer membership, almost a year after it ran out, as I had an idea for an app my partner would make heavy use of, and wanted to set her up with a TestFlight build to try out. Over 24h later and App Store Connect still shows as expired 🤷🏻‍♂️

Another weekend where this meme is appropriate

This is very neat! Also, I’m so happy it leads with Dan Abnett’s HIVE, which I recently finished and is a legit masterpiece. Dude is the Lord of the Dark Millennium for a reason. defector.com/warhammer-40...

Here you go

I think The Magician's Nephew is the one Narnia book I never finished (my 9yo brain found it incredibly dull compared to most the others), so I'll be interested to find out how my adult brain finds the movie version

Bohemian Knights. The 2nd box of Knights are now available to preorder. There are also a couple of bundle deals for those of you who want both box sets, and the new shield transfers from LBM. www.northstarfigures.com/list.php?man... #northstarfigs #bohemianknights #hussitewars #wargaming

Hi, I’m a sighted alt text user! Here are some reasons I use it: - Slow Internet on an airplane - I’m over 40, I have no idea who that celebrity is - Bluesky broke images again - My vision sucks and that text is too small to read otherwise - Conveys further context and authorial intent

Friends, are you or do you know any graphic designers who are free to take freelance gig on a short notice? Experience in tabletop games is a huge plus! If so, please contact me!

A small smattering of Tone Pro paints ordered; blue, red, yellow, black, and white. My hope is to use the super vibrant ones for my growing #oldhammer backlog, the rest are for experimentation #nerdlings

Absolutely spot-on by @anildash.com here: "The best artists around you are invisible to you, and the most important statements by activists that you care about are being silenced. It’s not a conspiracy, it’s a system working as designed."

ah damn, RIP Margaret Hamilton. she took safety-critical software engineering seriously, and got people to the moon and back. news.mit.edu/2026/margare...

You guys want to hear a short but adorable story that happened right in front of me at the baggage claim in NYC yesterday? I wasn't part of it and there are bits I didn't catch but holy crap, I can't stop thinking about it.

Setting up a new AtProto PDS and migrating from your old one

The local coffee roasters had a blend we’ve had before, named Nicaragua Pineapple Candy, which we picked up as part of a bundle. It’s amazing, possibly the best new coffee I’ve tried in a while macbeans.com/products/nic...

I’ve got a PDS that I need to move off DigitalOcean. #atproto people - am I right that I need to setup a new PDS at the new host, then use tools like goat to migrate accounts and data over? Similar to when I moved off the bsky PDS? Or has the process/tools gotten more user friendly?

WipEout was released 31 years ago. Since the game is set in 2052, we're already more than halfway there. 😁 A technical gem, this Psygnosis game made a huge splash on the PS1 (and other platforms). Especially with its electro soundtrack and in-game branding & artworks by The Designers Republic.

We are delighted to announce a fantastic 15 new Mediterranean Table Ready Terrain colour printed buildings. These are available in 28mm and we will be unveiling their release date very soon!

Took a punt on a case of Warhammer Heroes, hoping to get lucky and snag the 4 WHQ heroes 3 out of 4 ain’t bad. Just got to track down the Witch Hunter. The rest will find a spot in my Cities collection
