One year ago, RedLynx was being praised by Digital Foundry for producing "the most impressive demonstration of Switch 2 technology we've yet seen." Now, the studio is being shut down by Ubisoft. I keep seeing the phrase 'do good work, get laid off anyway' and, yeah, I can see why.

This is important: your boss wants to keep you insecure, afraid, and passive. Your boss benefits from you infantilizing and de-responsibilizing yourself. Your boss doesn't want you to know the power you have. Your entire life can pass you by while trapped in this kind of reality distortion field

Fascinating story about how the social dynamics of people who don't think of themselves as a management class torpedoed the unionisation efforts at Double Fine, and how that meant the majority of the staff fired this summer were attempted union members.

Interesting that they’ve learned that people will react positively to socialism if it is defined correctly so they’ve had to stop doing that.
