This is deranged. Imagine being so deep into AI psychosis and so disconnected from your own human life that you need a chatbot to help you come up with three very generic adjectives about your own kid. We can’t let these people & these companies be in charge of our & our kids’ futures.

Tesla drivers, as a rule, can't even handle a regular car. The kind that's been around for over a century. Looking forward to the flying car guys missing an exit and accidentally doing 9/11 2 a few thousand times a year

so you're saying this was a bad idea

Twitch is using AI to decide which streamers can make money off ads aftermath.site/twitch-ads-ai-...

every time we get a peek inside big tech, it's a horrifying freakshow of the world's worst thinkers there's never a cool one, it's always very, very bad

one of the struggles as a professional right now is how clients will balk at your effort/time estimations while pointing to some AI garbage that looks like shit, and it's so hard to convince them that it's shit because they don't understand the difference, even when explained to them

I imagine that this is the slow death happening to all professional services that aren't outright blown away by AI, just this death by a thousand cuts bullshit while everything degrades into sludge

the most irritating effect of "AI" in my industry is that the market doesn't want to pay for anything anymore, but they are not justified in that at all they THINK everything can be AI now, so they won't pay for real quality work, but the results in reality are always mediocre trash

because the market is a dumbass, businesses are racing to get to this "AI" mirage on the horizon, but it's not real people are losing their jobs as business dries up while the market turns to generating everything, which means everything will converge into a grayish middle-of-the-road average goop

it's going to truly become the world of the middle-manager, the people who know the least about anything convinced by a tool that knows nothing that they know everything

let's discuss ai safety: who are these assholes in charge of it why do they keep saying it's alive that seems unsafe

llms are not alive and people need to stop talking about them in that way they don't make decisions, people do. whatever the llm did is some specific person's fault. they set it up to do whatever it did. the person is responsible for whatever happens.

sorry to anyone trying to get an loz 40th pro controller, it only goes in stock when I'm not looking and I been looking

I am serious that today’s journalism ecosystem would be fooled if they played war of the worlds on the radio. It would be on CNN within hours

EB Games Canada gets an exclusive Zelda Ocarina of Time N64 slipcover with pre-order of the game "Exclusively available in Canada at EB Games" it's official... USA lost the trade war 😭

getting all my American friends to refer to playing Wardogs as "dogging" and calling themselves "the doggers"

I'm into the OoT's new look. It's all woodland fairytale whimsy and that just seems like the correct vibe to me. OoT is a formative game for me so it'd be almost impossible to recreate the feelings I had then, but I think it looks great.

many people have been saying that I am "not cool" but I am writing "i'm cool" on each piece of my clothing to prove they are wrong

be kind to the theft machine because one day it might take a break from denying you healthcare to deny you healthcare even harder

it doesn't think it can't think it will never think it's a statistical model you are being tricked by complicated dice

they stuck to their guns through the entire cancellation process that no lower service was available in my area, which is pure unadulterated bullshit

Coestar@coestar.live

fuck Spectrum/Charter and the dystopian capitalist hellscape they rode in on check out this straight up lying bullshit the INSTANT I said "cancel" a huge wall of text appeared lol p.s. the "$60/mo." I'd be "saving" is the amount that they've crept my bill up over five years - should be illegal

twist ending, I thought we were done but they put me on an ungodly hold then OFFERED ME WHAT I'VE BEEN ASKING FOR the military should just do this instead of boot camp

the slop generator can only "make" sounds/pictures/words because of the ongoing theft of everyone else's work there's no argument around that fact, least of all one that broadens the definition to include everything a computer does - no, we're talking specifically about the theft machine.

the mountain of filler text you get from someone who's ceded their brain over to the robot reads like a lazy homework essay that's been stuffed full of as many unnecessary words as possible to pad out the word count I can feel my brain longing for death as I read them

I get hit with this sort of thing astonishing regularly. The number of people who have stopped interfacing with you as a person and just send a robot gibberish mess at you is insane. I think they think they sound more professional, but it makes whatever they're saying 10x more difficult to parse

they're adding a shitton of filler that takes 10x the mental load to unravel just to ascertain the tiny kernel of actual information buried within

something the crypto-brained, NFT-brained, and AI-brained all share is this assumption that everyone else is just too stupid to understand

ghost malone ergo propter bones@proptermalone.bsky.social

i am reasonably confident that i could figure out a way any person on Bluesky could use a $20 OpenAI or Claude subscription to improve some aspect of their life in fifteen minutes of talking through it, if they're willing to try in good faith
