Day 26 of 31 Days of Horror movies “It Came From the Sewers” with Mimic. Haven’t seen this since the theater, and it was a fun creature movie with just enough GDT fun to make it entertaining

Day 25 of 31 Days of Horror Movies, back to “jocks” with Bloody Tennis. A little rough and some odd bits, but enjoyed the tennis school cult intensity build up.

Day 24 of 31 days of horror movies, off prompt watch of Shudder’s new movie The Cycle, wanted to see this at Beyondfest but timing didn’t work out. Really enjoyed the hell out of this, starts as a moody Silence of the Lambs and ends as a practical effect creature feature that had me cheering

Day 23 of 31 Days of Horror movies “punks” with The Ranger. Fun slasher/killer movie where a psychotic park ranger hunts a gang of punks hiding out.

First 5 TTRPGs I played: 1. D&D Basic/1st/2nd edition 2. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles & Other Strangeness 3. Rifts (tm) 4. Robotech 5. Vampire the Masquerade 2nd edition We made Cyberpunk 2020 characters prob sometime in the midst of all the Palladium stuff but never got around to playing it

Eight years since we dreamed it up, 2 1/2 since we recorded our pilot. Sometimes a passion project takes seemingly forever, but comes along exactly when you need it. Today is the day, folks. Available wherever you get your podcasts. It is midnight in America, and you are listening to Midnight Radio.

Day 22 31 Days of Horror Movies “Goths” with Night of the Demons. A rewatch, I’ve got a soft spot for this schlocky b horror film.

Day 21 of 31 Days of Horror Movies “New To Me Found Footage” with VHS99 which was fine? First 2 weren’t Viral bad but weren’t particularly great either. Last 2 were pretty fun but also not super great either.

Day 20 of 31 Days of Horror Movies “Highway Horror” with Psychomania aka Death Wheelers, in which a psychedelic British biker does some witchcraft to return to life and cause mayhem. A lot of fun! Gotta love a movie that opens with bikers circling standing stones in the fog to psychedelic rock

I still can’t get over how fantastic the Living Dead motorcycle helmets were. I especially love that this gang had colorful name tags on their jackets and the 2 ladies had their own stylish outfits too. Movies like this make me miss Morgan, bet he knew all about this movie or would’ve loved it

There are ways around this. They involve trusts. Get your aging parents to talk to a lawyer to keep their assets protected.

if millennials could afford homes this wouldnt be a problem but this is going to hit the generation like a truck

If our system of justice can determine that shooting a one year-old is justified, then we do not have a system of justice, and our goal should be the eradication of the system we have and its replacement with something better.

JUST IN: The police shooting that killed 1-year-old Kohen Wiley as he sat in his mother’s lap in a Walmart parking lot in Senatobia, Miss., in June “was justified,” Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch’s office said on Monday. Her office will not charge the white officer who shot the child.

Day 19 of 31 Days of Horror Movies “Favorite Franchise” - Friday 13th VIII Jason Takes Manhattan. They aren’t my favorite or even the best of the big franchises but the consistency across them is by far the best - fun schlocky slashers that really cemented the genre “rules”

Like none of these comes close to the greatness of the first Halloween or Nightmare on Elm Street. But none of them are worse than H20, Curse Michael Myers or Dream Child or Final Nightmare….

Day 18 of 31 Days of Horror Films “least favorite franchise” with Resident Evil Apocalypse… figured with how much I enjoyed the new RE movie this would be some bad movie fun. I was right about the bad movie part. I forgot how terrible these were

Day 17 of 31 Days of Horror Movies “Death by Board Game” with Beyond the Gates. Outside Barbara Crampton, who is delightfully chewing scenery as the VHS game character, I really didn’t care for this movie at all.

Damn. Tommy was taken to a school that more people in this country should attend.

Abdul El-Sayed@abdulelsayed.bsky.social

This is Tommy. Tommy had a question about my allegiances. Listen to the end to hear about his.

Day 16 31 Days of Horror movies “Rich People Doing Evil Shit” with People Who Own The Dark. A bunch of wealthy aristocrats holding a sex & drug party in a castle when nuclear war happens. Sadly the titular people are the town folk blinded by the flash who get some revenge on the rich bastards

Day 15 of 31 Days of Horror movies “Telekinesis” with Friday the 13th VII: The New Blood. This one was rough and by far the weakest of the franchise so far. The addition of a “Carrie” character didn’t really add anything fun.

Day 14 of 31 Days of Horror Movies “trashy thriller” with Fascination (1979). Very artsy and dreamlike, but ultimately mostly lesbian vampire erotica. The best part by far was Brigitte Lahaie in a cloak slaying bandits with a scythe

Day 13 31 days of horror movies “hotel horror” with 1408, it’s got a rough second half but was otherwise fine. Not the best or worst King movie by a long shot.

Day 12 of 31 days of horror movies “monkeys paw” with Wishmaster. This was an absolute delight of cheesy b horror filled with super fun practical VFX (and crap early CGI).

Day 11 31 days of horror movies - Mārama, very neat gothic horror about Māori woman who travels to England to learn about her lost family and then enact bloody revenge. The true monster is colonialism

Day 10 31 Days of Horror Movies “Trouble in Paradise” with the Ruins. Very much a horror movie of the aughts from the cast, some body horror gore, and a random rock song over the end credits by a band whose label is a subsidiary of the studio. Otherwise it was fine if a little forgettable

Day 9 31 Days of Horror Movies “Not So Imaginary Friends” with Other Mommy. A perfectly fine entertaining horror movie, about what I expect generally from Blumhouse. Movie def felt a little chopped like there were holes but otherwise nothing egregious and loved that it wasted zero time kicking off

Day 7 31 days of horror movies “bloody bride” The Blood Splattered Bride Spanish film from 1972 based on Carmilla so a lesbian vampire film with heavy Giallo vibes & gorgeous cinematography but also more than cheep exploitation it had legit opinions on gender, patriarchy, fascism, and sex. Loved it

Day 6 31 Days of Horror Movies “PG-13” (out of order for reasons) Five Nights At Freddy’s, decided to keep with the theme and watching something teenager-ish. The movie had some good parts, but woof way too much focus on a dull protagonist’s backstory and not enough animatronic mayhem or scares

This movie absolutely fucking slaps hard, if you have a chance to see it do so. Especially if you like any form of Warhammer 40K. And even if like me you knew nothing about the comics. It’s just terrific animation, action, very British humor, and has heart

Lock in, GIs! The countdown to the UK premiere of Rogue Trooper at London Film Festival this Friday is on, as @manmademoon.bsky.social brings the all-guns-blazing sci-fi @2000ad.bsky.social comic strip to life https://bit.ly/4ebVzhl

Day 5 31 Days of Horror “Feline Fright” with Sleepwalkers, haven’t seen this since it came out at the $2 theater and it’s just as bad now, but it has its charms like the line “cop kebab”. Plus who doesn’t have a crush on Mädchen Amick thanks to Twin Peaks?

Day 4 31 Days of Horror Movies “A Listers Early Role” The Burning that was the debut of Jason Alexander, Holly Hunter and Fisher Stevens! But as I learned also the first movie produced by convicted rapist Harvey Weinstein & written by Bob Weinstein… so the gross/creepy 80’s sex stuff ages even worse

That said, Tom Savini's effects and make up are great as always and result in some spectacular garden sheers murder. And it has some decent slasher suspense sequences. Otherwise completely skippable in the Slasher Camp Canon

Oh and the director Tony Maylam would go on to make the fantastic Split Second a decade later. So I guess that’s a positive

Day 3 of 31 Days of Horror movies and already off list, watched Under the Shadow. And absolutely fantastic Iranian Horror movie that takes place during the Iraq/Iran war when an unexploded missile hits their apartment building and then are haunted by djinn.

JRR Tolkien: You paint that picture of the key scene from the Two Towers where Frodo and Sam fight Gollum? Donato Giancola: Sure did, Ron, real fuckin' sexy just like you asked. JRRT: What.

Day 2 31 Days of Horror Movies “Bad Remake” Amityville Horror (2005), and yeah that was most definitely bad. But maybe that makes it a good remake as the original was also terrible. Anyway, this was an incoherent mess with zero tension and a very miscast Ryan Reynolds

October means 31 Days of Horror movies yet again. Will be vaguely following these prompts as I like the structure of it. First up for Rad Remake - Let Me In. Loved it, it’s exactly what a remake should be! By setting it in 80’s US it feels completely different and its own thing

I dug how the US version’s flavor of loneliness felt more a result of being ostracized more than being an odd budding serial killer, even though they share the exact same beats. I originally dismissed this movie as not needing to exist and was glad to be proven wrong

The worst part of Bonta caving on the Paramount merger is that it's a big flashing signal to every other company that there is no antitrust enforcement in America and you can bully your way into getting whatever you want. It's a monumentally bad decision.
