Eating the rich is only revolutionary if we also remember to feed each other.

Seeing people spreading this poll around to show that Jews are supposedly abandoning the Democratic Party. It’s based on a subsample of about 65 Jews within a larger survey sample. That’s the sample here. Other polls of American Jews have produced quite different results.

Who faces the loses from ending fossil fuels? The rich: "In the U.S., 82% of the devaluation would hit the wealthiest 10% of households, and that loss... would amount to only 0.4% of the wealthiest households’ net worth." Big Money & the rich are blocking climate action for a rounding error.

Yellow Dot Studios@yellowdotstudios.bsky.social

"[Fossil Fuel interests] are trying to fool us because, for them, it is a bridge too far to agree to stop destroying the world and consequently make the rich less rich. No—we can’t make the rich less rich! That would be “degrowth,” a fate worse than climate change itself." - @doctorvive.bsky.social

Grindr is training its AI on your photos, your age, and your taps by default, without asking. This video shows where the app buried the off switch. The stakes are high on an app like Grindr. Numerous countries criminalize same-sex relations, so being outed through your data can be dangerous.

More than being fat THIS is the Carrie everyone's too cowardly to do. 2026 Carrie should be a goblin who says the most awful things & people would slowly understand there's no malice there & she's just repeating evil things she heard somewhere & despite their revulsion people still reach out to her.

QuoProQuid@quoproquid.bsky.social

a thing about carrie, the novel, is that carrie *is* weird and judgmental and unpleasant to deal with. characters have to suppress their irritation with her, and this is important because it's easy to reach out to someone who conforms to social norms. it's harder to do that to a girl who doesn't.

Thank you all for supporting the second episode of Knights of Guinevere! We're so happy to bring such a wild story to life. Shoutouts to our extremely talented artists who designed every frame with care ❤️

Many people - politicians, doctors, parents - see the neurodiversity movement & feel the threat it poses to their worldview. If some minds are different, if some of us are fucked by the school system as it stands - totally shamed & brutalised by its inadequacy - that requires radical change.

Arizona and Virginia, both of which are governed by Democrats, are ending Medicaid coverage of care for trans youth, Transitics has learned. The bans, which go into effect on October 13th, mark the most significant Democratic capitulation to Trump's anti-trans demands yet. Cowards.

The term was popularized by Wilhelm Marr in the 1880's, to racialize Jews and to cultivate the idea that he hated Jews on modern scientific racial grounds, not premodern theological grounds. No one *is* a Semite; the term was invented as part of racist pseudoscience. This is ahistorical nonsense.

I don’t care where you started out on the political spectrum If your kid comes out as trans & you don’t become a rainbow-clad, parade-cheering ally & rock-solid supportive girl/boy/enby dad/mom? You were never a parent at all You were a doll collector furious they didn’t stay in their packaging.

This is because most Gentiles assume Jews are just Christians without Christ, and miss the fact that there are a lot fewer of us and that being in community as one people, even with people you disagree with or even hate, is a big part of what it means to be Jewish. Peoplehood, not just religion.

I heard the Pope has denounced AI, that's cool. How's he doing on not killing us again?

Trans News Network@transnews.network

Underneath the "progressive" papacy of Pope Leo remains a deeply reactionary institution, one of the biggest enemies of trans rights worldwide. @sjklapecki.itch.io, who survived the Catholic Church's bigotry firsthand, goes in-depth on why it's time to see through the propaganda and face reality.

The fact that this idiocy got past an editor in a book on godamn punctuation shows how deep the ignorance of Judaism and Jewish history is in the wider culture and how that ignorance is being weaponized so as to create a better scapegoat for Western uses

My first job was as a grocery store cashier. Being forced to stand in place for 5-6 hours in no way inclined me towards friendliness. Our (the U.S.) obsession with making "menial" work as miserable as possible isn't rooted in anything other than vindictive cruelty.

TSA says it is removing chairs at document checks in airports, requiring staff to stand for their shift. TSA explained the reason as twofold: to ensure its employees meet its fitness standards and to create an amiable environment for travelers.

I've mentioned my Alma Mater, Antioch College's famous sexual harassment policy in relation to recent developments at Cornell. I should probably also mention Antioch banned fraternities in the 1920s. Maybe your Alma Mater should do that, too.

So-called AI detection tools might be an even bigger scurge than AI. I was talking today with a student (a senior), who shared that they now have to spend time "dumbing down" their papers--shortening sentences, removing advanced vocab and punctuation--because otherwise they get flagged as "AI."

One of the quirky things I actually kinda love about Bluesky is, if you search the term "Atlantis" you've got about a 50/50 chance of getting either the gay cruise or the Disney movie, but about an 80/20 chance any given tweet will be sexually explicit or not. Skeet on, ya lil' freaks. Skeet on.

The Netflix business model combines with distrust sown by shows like ‘Lost’ failing to pay off on their narrative promise

This "you get *Maybe* ten episodes so you better make do whatever you're trying to do IMMEDIATELY" shit is not good for storytelling. I am by no means the first to say it or even closest to it, but we are seriously losing the places where people get to try out weird shit and learn how to do things.…

These clowns want to cede the most important decisions in comics storytelling to a fucking bot. And you know this would lead to further underpayment of artists. Boycott any book or publisher that uses this.
