Polymarket is taking bets on whether the seven Cornell students accused of raping a student will receive a felony sex crime charge. Among the athletes endorsing Polymarket: LeBron James, Derek Jeter, Eli Manning, Sue Bird, Reggie Bush and Richard Sherman. frontofficesports.com/article/poly...

When we say that campus sexual violence is the canary in the coal mine, this is what we mean. These perpetrators graduate. A lot of them will ascend to extremely powerful positions in our society. And their violence will expand with time—especially if they’re always rewarded for it.

The campus sexual violence perpetration to ICE leadership pipeline is strong. Remember, Stephen Miller booked his first national interview platforming rape apologism during the Duke lacrosse case.
That’s Micah Bock, communications director for disgraced former congressman Madison Cawthorn, and who himself was accused in college of rubbing his genitals on a sleeping woman and then defending himself later with the argument that “she was asking for it.”

At the same time as the Chi Phi incident, another frat was calling in favors to get the Cornell police department to look the other way on various allegations. Incredible details here from a Cornell Sun alum, including some damning allegations of favoritism from Cornell VP of Student Life Lombardi.

3 of them were children. One maybe a member. In an elementary school. I’m grieving and I’m praying for the families. But I’m also angry. I’m angry because we shouldn’t live like this. We don’t have to accept this as normal. It’s well past time for action www.kptv.com/2026/10/15/b...

Cristobal Young pulled together data on the frats suspended at Cornell over the past 18 years. Together, we point at that data to argue that our current regulatory whac-a-mole strategy isn't working and we need to try radical reforms that amount to ending men-only residential frats.

We’ve seen schools do this before. If this one-year party suspension doesn’t turn into a permanent ban, then it’s just a message to fraternities that they have true impunity. That even the worst, most violent behavior will result in a temporary slap on the wrist.

The one time this administration cares about antitrust. 🤦🏾♂️😒🙄
BREAKING NYT: The Trump Justice Department is investigating whether the major television networks — ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC and Fox — violated federal antitrust laws when the group briefly suspended their pooled coverage of Trump, according to six people with knowledge of the department's action.

Whenever I see a current or former university president in the news for sexual misconduct, I think of this chart from 2015. (ABC seems to have pulled down the original Five Thirty Eight article, but here’s a Feministing blog about it.)
For those not following NJ politics, please know that the Lt Gov resigned a few days ago because a report came out saying he did serial harassment, and yesterday he went on TV to say "i put that report through multiple AIs and they told me it wasn't sexual harassment." Former university president
