Oregonians: let’s show the rest of the country how safe and easy it is to vote by mail. If you’re dropping your ballots off this week, reply to this post with a photo I can amplify.

A landmark Supreme Court case has created a scramble to redraw districts across the South to give Black voters less of a say. What could that mean for the November election? Listen here:

I created this photo using recent research so it relaxes your brain when you pause to look at the details. As I'm sometimes too unwell to post here (not good mental health due to PMDD & recovering from a breakdownA) it would help so much if you could maybe RT my photo. Many thanks 🌿

"For many, this is the video game industry’s β€œyou reap what you sow” moment, proof that the AI tools many publishers have brazenly admitted to using are a double-edged sword." πŸ™ƒ Also, this Tim Sweeney guy is not an honest person. Great piece about an industry that is changing at breakneck speed:

Hey remember a couple months ago when I almost died from sleep apnea and begged y'all to be checked if you have symptoms of sleep apnea? Eric Bauza just died from sleep apnea. We were the same age. Don't ignore sleep apnea.

Do you get a full night's sleep but wake up feeling like death? Does your whole body feel off in ways you can't explain? Research signs of Sleep Apnea. Get a sleep test. You can't diagnose it yourself, cuz you sleepin'.

It is already dystopian to have no choice but to find an employer to sponsor your existence despite the basics for existence being abundant. It's even more dystopian to then automate those jobs and demand to be able to find another employer to sponsor your existence. Our demand should be freedom.

β€œWork is more than just income.”  @a-austin.bsky.socialΒ explains how a federal jobs guarantee is preferable to UBI because it gives people valuable skills and experience that will allow them to accelerate their careers. Read @theguardian.com:

Basic income is about more than money. It’s about the power to say no. Karl Widerquist argues that freedom means having real control over whether to cooperate with others, rather than being forced into cooperation by economic necessity.

I hope "Maggie" grows up to create all sorts of dark and weird and cool things and looks back on this incident as the first moment she realized people who try to shame your creativity or tell you what not to create don't deserve to be listened to.

So the "advice" doled out in this column makes me INCREDIBLY fucking angry as a former kid who was repeatedly taken to task by teachers for "inappropriate" drawings, culminating in a 9th-grade suspension spurred by Columbine paranoia and residual Satanic Panic. Arionne here says that was JUSTIFIED.

That RFK clip is ghastly, but it's totally consistent with the Islamophobia that has been coming out of this administration, including Trump's rhetoric about Abdul El-Sayed. They are all in on the hatred of Muslims because it's a formula that has worked before.

I live in a rural town and, like, I don't know how to tell you this, but the girls play on the boys team and vice versa all the time because otherwise we don't have enough players for a game and it's literally always fine so stop being weirdos about kids sports and just let trans kids play.

Inflation eating up worker pay. Household debt and student loan defaults at a record high. 8 million people have lost healthcare. 5 million people have lost food stamps β€” including 2 million children. Gas prices skyrocketing. Trump says, "Pretend I'm on the ballot." Please do.
