I rounded up 13 bone-chilling Indigenous horror reads that’ll crawl under your skin and into your dreams. Stephen Graham Jones is back with Off the Reservation, Never Whistle at Night returns for blood, and writers from Alaska to Aotearoa are bringing the scares. redpopnews.com/13-bone-chil...

redpopnews.com13 Bone-Chilling Indigenous Horror Reads That Will Crawl Under Your Skin and Into Your DreamsIndigenous people have been telling scary stories for thousands of years. For most of modern horror's history, though, we showed up as the curse instead of the storytellers. Think of the Overlook Hote...

What are y'all reading, listening to, and watching? -Reading: The Sunken, the Adored by Donyae Coles (not too far in, but already dark and strange) -Listening: Follow the Light by June McDoom (whimsical, melancholic, and totally lovely) -Watching: Scariest House in America (incredibly fun)

Literally an hour after I posted this, Emma learned that she got a job! It doesn't start until November 9th though, so she needs some help getting through the next few weeks.

a big inspiration for that story was a poem i read about 5-6 years ago called, iirc, "The Love Song of Woodrow Derenberger." i was unable to remember the author or find it, but if anyone has a link or knows where to find it, they should let me know!

I have a story in this! Like everything I write, it is a cozy feel good jaunt that celebrates our present age 😊

Folks, in light of resurgent cozy horror discourse, I can promise you that our 2027 release, Cursed Morsels: A Food Systems Horror Anthology, is by far the bleakest thing we've published. I mean, it's doing other things too, but goddamn, is it bleak!

One thing I love about Briar Ripley Page's story in Under a Malevolent Eye is how it captures the experience of feeling (or perhaps actually being) the only person in your workplace who sees technological "progress" as horrific dystopia. Read it here: www.cursedmorselspress.com/product/unde...

Mae Murray's story in this anthology also kicks a ton of ass. Vivid prose that makes you feel like you're right there with the narrator while the strange, gnarly working-class Arkansas horrors unfold. Highly recommended!

I'm reading an early copy of Side Hustle: Horror Stories for Late Capitalism from @agitapublishing.bsky.social, and God, "TOM" by Michelle Sturges-Brown is such a brutal, sad, incredible story. Up there with "The Mub" by Thomas Ha for essential AI hater stories.

Thanks to everyone who visited us at the Bloodcurdling Book Bash today! A little slower than most book events I've tabled at, but it did have one cool thing: a hotel pool about eight feet behind my booth. One big-ass cannonball could have ruined every book on my table, and that's kinda sick.

Look you're perfectly allowed to write whatever sentimental hopecore garbage you like and you can even call it horror if you want. You're not gonna change my mind that horror needs to be horrifying.
