I have a very funny audience that I can never make completely happy, but such is life for queer Christian clergy, I suppose - especially when you write about a mostly secular topic. Anyway, I wrote about what being queer and cycling have in common, inspired by the guy who called me a bitch earlier

After a man yelled "get out the street, bitch" on my ride home today, I was wondering about the gendered nature of harassment that cyclists face. Female cyclists, how often are you being catcalled or called a bitch while cycling? Male cyclists, how often are people yelling at you & what do they say?

🚨 URGENT BULLETIN TO ALL NASHVILLE SICKOS 🚨 If you see a painted bike box at any intersection, that intersection needs to have a No Right on Red sign to prevent cars from pulling through the bike box. If there is not a NROR sign, Hub it and Metro will fix it quickly!

I wish we could cancel hub requests. There WAS a bike lane obstruction 2 days ago, but it’s gone now and the request is still open. I’d rather just remove it from the queue so other things can have more priority.

Can anyone confirm Clays statement that we’re actually receiving this money and that it’s no longer stuck in courts? And wasn’t engineering complete as a part of the grant process?

Where is our cyclocross course? Velodrome? Nashville should be a cycling destination hosting national and world championships alike. We have favorable geography and terrain for countless events.

Everybody talks about N+1 being the correct number of bikes. But, how many types bike pumps do you own? I have four: a regular track pump, a chamber pump, an electric mini inflator, and pair of CO2 inflators.

Build the downtown bike lanes. Personal vehicles just don’t fit downtown, not to mention the safety risks they impose.

This is ridiculous. Shame on NDOT for getting rid of the loading zone on the way down Demonbruen hill. I watched two Lime bike riders get forced into traffic because of this.

According to NDOT we have 530 miles of bikeways. They claim 55% are “low stress”. That would be about 290 miles or 190 not counting greenways. They consider plastic sticks as low stress. I suggest they ride a bike in Nashville more often.

I toted my new bike down the Natchez Trace Parkway to do some gravel riding in Lawrence County this past weekend. Tons of fun, but also exhausting.
