SCOOP: 'Tommy' from the now-viral exchange with Abdul El-Sayed is Thomas Teepell, a former staffer for Republican Senator Josh Hawley with close ties to Christian Nationalist Sean Feucht. He's the son of a former Bobby Jindal staffer whose consultant work was instrumental in getting Hawley elected.
Incredible. This is how you do it.
And the ending is perfect.
The people claiming that a Muslim or an atheist would force their beliefs on Americans want to force their beliefs on Americans.
I don’t usually ask for favors, but this one means a lot to us. There’s only a day left to vote for our podcast to win the Signal. Independent media FTW! vote.signalaward.com/publicvoting...
Remember: Wealth cannot be separated from power.
We're seeing in real time how the extreme concentration of wealth is distorting our politics, rigging markets, and granting unprecedented power to a handful of people.
Taxing the rich isn't just an economic issue, it's a defense of our democracy.
Join us nationwide on October 17 for the next No Kings—our BIGGEST No Kings mobilization yet. We’re building a network of election defenders and turning people power into voter power. #NoKings ❌👑
It's inconceivable to me how someone who lost in a free & fair election can incite an angry mob to attack his own government, (the very definition of treason) & be allowed to run for any office ever again.
A thing I learned not too long ago is that when an LLM selects a token that leads it down an incorrect path (factually), it has no way to back up, or even know that it should back up, it's just on to the next likely bit. Literally every LLM is just posting their way through it. What an image.
The problem is even more fundamental. LLMs do not understand causation or logic. They only understand correlation. Which means, even with full token context, they will always have the chance to hallucinate.
Let me show you something beautiful.
Awakening, 1993 by Ivan Marchuk.
It’s exhibited in Ukraine for the first time. Came from New York, where it remained for many years as part of Ukraine’s cultural presence.
There are several versions of the painting. But all mean the same: awakening of Ukraine.
All day long Kyiv has been under drone attack.
Explosions, fires and thick smoke.
My answer to the war is Paradise Art. It’s a movement established by 🇺🇦 artist Yevhen Leshchenko.
I visited his exhibition the other day.
Yesterday, I sent a letter about the “russian world”, an ideology of russia’s special mission and influence beyond its borders.
I traced how it evolved over centuries.
Today, attacks on Kyiv resumed. They show what this “mission” looks like.

Hello, the telescope is named after Dr. Nancy Grace Roman, NASA's first Chief of Astronomy and champion for the Hubble Space Telescope. You can learn more about Dr. Roman below. 🔭
We'd love your help in telling her story to your followers!
Small towns live & die by each person that stays or goes. As State Auditor, I started the Statewide Work, Statewide Jobs program, allowing employees to stay in their communities instead of forcing them to move to Des Moines.
As governor, let's expand this program to support our rural communities.

Here's the way around having to pretend that Mitch McConnell is not dead, if that is indeed the case. We should all agree on this point: if Mitch McConnell can't be wheeled to a podium for a live press conference to speak, then he is not competent to serve. newrepublic.com/post/213199/...
Have you noticed that some of the most effective ads for the Dems are written by the GOP?
I love when they say the quiet part out loud!

Mamdani: "As we mark 250 years ... we see the wealthiest country -- one where children go to sleep hungry while the world's first trillionaire hungers for more ... we see masked agents terrorizing our streets, eating food cooked by undocumented neighbors before spiriting them away in unmarked vans"
"True individual freedom cannot exist without economic security and independence. People who are hungry and out of a job are the stuff of which dictatorships are made.” —FDR, 1944
The Slaughter case, overturning precedent, returns us to a spoils system where a president can “clean house” every four years, destroying our professional, independent civil service.
On June 19, 1865, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation, enslaved people in Texas finally learned they were free when Union troops arrived in Galveston to enforce emancipation.
He's a master of distracting us from crimes he's already committed by continuously committing new crimes.

Looking at what he's done to the People's House (without Congressional approval, of course), I feel equal parts rage & embarrassment for our country.
The Midterms can't come soon enough...

Can't thank Stephen Colbert enough for the decades of laughs he's given us. He's been positively therapeutic in these troubled times & I can't wait to see what he does next! 👀
(plus, he let me sit behind his desk) 🙏
For more than a decade, Stephen Colbert has been one of the top voices of late night—making us laugh and, even more importantly, reminding us who we are and what America stands for. Michelle and I enjoyed being Stephen’s guests—even when the games were rigged—and we’re grateful to call him a friend.
The Brown v. Board ruling happened 72 years ago today.
The reversal of the Supreme Court’s previous “separate but equal” decision highlights how it’s possible to overcome bad SCOTUS decisions.
But it took years of activism from brave people to get there.
Keep fighting.
Yesterday, a new generation of civil rights activists marched from Selma to Montgomery to fight for voting rights. As states across the country try to make it harder for citizens to be heard, we need to learn the lessons of those who came before us and refuse to take our democracy for granted.
Sen. Mark Kelly: "If you say something that the president or this administration does not like, they're going to come after you. The president is trying to silence us, and I can't think of anything that's more un-American."

A strong storm system will approach the mid Mississippi Valley today, bringing multiple rounds of severe storms this morning and again this afternoon/evening. A threat for multiple strong to intense tornadoes will be likely this afternoon/evening. Visit weather.gov for the latest.
IT professionals have been warning against creating huge personal data repositories for decades!
It's a dangerous notion that keeps resurrecting again & again.
No safer now than it was in the 80's, 90's etc or now!
“Why would we, ... in the name of protecting people, create a whole other legal mandate that requires the collection and storage of even more personally identifying information that would be subject to either data thieves or data breaches?” EFF’s @aaronmackey.bsky.social told @nbcnews.com.
Wishing everyone a joyous NO KINGS DAY 3.0- Thank you to everyone across the globe for your participation in the Resistance... an inspiration to us ALL!!! 🙏
