Whenever I see the women from Bleach now I think a lot about an exchange between Tite Kubo and Gege Akutami where Tite says "I look at your female characters and I don't want to date any of them," and Gege's like "Oh, yeah I guess I don't think about that when I make female characters"

Which, if you've seen/read JJK sounds crazy because everybody in that thing is insanely traditionally attractive, but then you see the average female character design from Bleach and you remember the industry that we're talking about, and that JJK is an outlier

I don't understand why people ever watched the H3 podcast. Like none of these people are funny or likeable, and they don't even seem to like each other. Someone is going to have to explain what made any of this compelling

The most important thing about a president is his table manners. Forget the illegal wars and paramilitary killings and trying to overturn elections, you're saying that he didn't interrupt you or scream at you during dinner?? Well shit! I didn't know that. Here I was thinking he was a bad president.

Dane Braddy (he/him) reposted

It's so funny to have dinner with the president and focus on his "etiquette" like he is a misbehaving 13-year-old who just got back from being sent to boarding school and has really shown improved behavior

The Tennessee Holler @thetnholler.bsky.social

“Yeah I did it again, bitches. Fuck you, I like these dinners.” @billmaher lashes out, defends himself for having dinner with Trump again. He says Trump had good etiquette, never lost his temper or yelled… How nice! Imagine being this far up your own ass.

yeh tbh if AI is so great you should be proud of it, you should disclose it everywhere and put a bunch of stickers yourself that you used it for your project showing everyone how cool and cutting edge you are, no? like, it's the future right? you love it right??

Choosing the lesser evil over and over again never gives you goodness. It gives you evil over and over again, just more slowly than choosing the greater evil. If you want goodness, you need to choose something good, not an evil that is smaller than another evil. Hope this helps

"Online Rent-a-Sage" Bret Devereaux@bretdevereaux.bsky.social

It is, fundamentally, an exercise of choosing the lesser evil, over and over and over again, so that the total amount of evil in the system decreases over time. And you must keep doing it, because - since evil is easy - good is easily reversed.

Reactions to this are quite revealing of exactly why "defund the police" is both so necessary in America and broke so many American brains. If the solution your system has for "rescuing a vulnerable child" is "send armed agents of the state to point an assault rifle at the child" you fucked it up.

this is not a person. you cannot watch this and think that thing sitting across from Mehdi is a real human being. it feels nothing and believes nothing. it has no immortal soul. there is nothing inside it. if you cut it open you'd find old fiberglass insulation and mouse skeletons.

A helpfully clear exchange here Hasan: "So your argument is that [Minnesota ICE protesters] should stay at home because immigration is a salient issue for Donald Trump. Opposing ICE is only going to help Trump. Wait until we win the election in 2028." Yglesias: "Yes that is what I would have said"

Imagine Brad Lander telling Jews during the Holocaust that they should not violently resist against their Nazi occupiers. This is what he's saying when he says "violence is not the path" when Palestinians use violent force against those who genocide them & steal their land.

The single most frustrating person politically is the moderate who claims they want the same things I want, they're just more realistic/pragmatic about achieving them. This is a lie you tell yourself because you can't face the truth that you don't want the same things I want.

Like all fascists, for all of Trump’s narcissism and eccentricities, his ultimate loyalty is always to capital. Elon Musk called him a pedophile bit Trump doesn’t care because Elon has the money.

Q: Do you think it's right for the richest man in the world to have so much power over what goes on in a war because Russia and Ukraine? TRUMP: Well, I don't think he does. First of all, he's a very good person. He's not gonna do anything wrong. Elon will never do anything wrong.

Kudos to the reporter here, who does something we almost never see: she interrupts Trump to try to make him and answer the question she asked, not allowing him to bloviate.

😳 WOMAN REPORTER: Do sexual abuse allegations mean nothing to you, sir? TRUMP: Wait. Wait! Wait wait wait. Slow down. Who are you with? REPORTER: NBC, sir. But they are very serious sex abuse allegations TRUMP: Quiet! Isn't she a fresh person? You're a horrible little reporter, aren't you?

Genuinely like, behavior that is reinforced becomes habitual. It's the same reason the IOF can murder the press, aid workers, and anybody else they please, because there's no consequences and everybody just moves on. Corruption that has no consequences becomes the norm. We can provide consequences

I’m sorry, but there’s just no affirmative case for this company to exist. I get it, groups have used and still use Facebook to organize, etc, but the inherent terribleness of this organization necessitates closing it down completely.

Since the video is self explanatory they are moving to a discussion of tone. They do this while refusing to admit that Tommy is a conservative operative, and in no way an “innocuous person at the town hall.” These are deeply and fundamentally unserious people.
