Naval Ravikant on why founders should code from Day 1: “Web and mobile startups are so competitive right now. Assume that whatever you’re building, there’s a team of 2-4 hardcore hackers working 24/7 on something similar.” Speed matters.

Founder discipline isn't motivational quotes. • Sleeping 7 hours so you can think clearly • Walking between coding sessions • Eating real food, drink good coffee • Stopping work before burnout hits • Saying no to grind culture You can't build long-term on empty.

Founder grinding isn’t quotes. It’s coding at 6am before work. Shipping at 11pm, exhausted. Skipping Saturdays out. Refactoring the same feature again. It’s not glamorous. But it compounds.

Starting from zero: no followers, users, or revenue. I’m building Glent AI - a tool that gets your brand mentioned by ChatGPT, Perplexity and others. Competitors hit $300M+ in a year. One is valued at $1B. I’m starting solo with army of AI agents. All transparent, in public.

→ If you outsource product development, you’re stuck in a slow feedback loop: Submit to developers → Wait for changes → Repeat → At best, you’ll get 1-2 iteration cycles per day. → Meanwhile, the team coding in-house is iterating 20+ times a day.

Well, it’s only January '25, and I already made it happen! This week I got the position. 💻 Manifestation works when you work too, and this is just the beginning. 🚀 🌌

in March '25 I will get my first frontend developer job let it here as proof that manifestation is working 🌌

Trying to be a startup superstar on social media is a bad way. Real superstars are offline, closing $100M funding rounds without ever needing a post. Realizing that likes don’t measure real startup success, I started grinding harder and engaging less online. Don't scroll 🙃 🤡 Keep grinding 💻

Hey devs, as a still newbie to React and Next.js, is it smart to start building the first portfolio apps with TypeScript, or focus on JS first and transition later? 💻 I see a pattern that almost all good companies work with TS, so using it from beginning could level up my code clarity and skill. 👨‍💻

Big accounts on platforms like 𝕏 have a much smoother transition to new networks like 🦋. Perfect example: @levels.io. Zero activity, 8k+ followers. People know, trust, and follow them without question. Focus on building trust and recognition - it compounds across platforms.

Deep work > busy work. Master your time, master your life. 1. Choose one task to crush in 2 hours. 👨‍💻 2. Fully focus - no distractions. 🧠 3. Take a break to recharge. 🔋 4. Repeat the cycle. 🔁 Testing 2-hour work sprints where I go full focus. What’s your strategy for staying productive?

If you care about privacy, Signal is your best friend: - End-to-end encryption - No data tracking - Open source - No ads or creepy algorithms WhatsApp tracks you. Messenger analyzes you. Signal protects you. 🔐 I'm a long-term Signal user - and yep, I even got my mom & father to join too! 😅

Last few days, I’ve been less active here. Results: follower growth slowed down. But one thing’s clear: 🦋 has stronger vibes than 𝕏 for the #buildinpublic fam. Keep sharing, building and stay consistent!

Market first. Marketing second. Aesthetics third. Functionality last. That's the real order of priorities when building something people actually want. 🎯 A product doesn’t sell because it’s beautiful or functional. It sells because the market wants it. ✅

"To make it big in business, you need to solve a real problem + build a great product + figure out at least one distribution channel. There is no way around it. Getting followers and going viral on social media won’t be the magic bullet for your startup." Well said @dagorenouf.com 👍

Dagobert Renouf@dagorenouf.com

Having lots of followers won't make your product successful. I have 100K followers on 𝕏, but the startup I built for 5 years never made more than $4K/month 🤷‍♂️ I was going viral often, getting 8-10K visitors per month... [full post below →]

Took a coding break for a day trip to Niagara Falls. The views were incredible, but by the end of the day, I could only think about coding. 💻 At this point in life, I don’t know how to relax. It’s just hustle and obsession on repeat. 🚀

Two types of entrepreneurs: 1. Micro-entrepreneurs: Independent creators who prefer freedom over scale. 2. Bootstrappers: Big-picture thinkers building teams to grow. Which one describes you better? 💡

Lately, I’ve noticed that 𝕏 has more valuable content - posts with real substance. On Bluesky 🦋, it feels like everyone’s chasing engagement with BS posts and comments. Some conversations are great, but most are just empty words. Bluesky has potential but needs more impactful content.

I decided to focus my energy on just one social platform. Doing too much at once ruins productivity, focus & progress. Every scroll, post, and comment takes energy. That's why I choose to stay active just 🦋.

Spent a few weeks in Bali recently, and it was a game-changer for work, focus and productivity. 💻 A few weeks there taught me how much environment impacts focus and creativity. Bali isn’t just a destination; it’s a lifestyle. 🌊 🧠 Can’t wait to go back in the future!

I see lot of developers building apps with 🦋 / 𝕏 API. APIs are powerful but unpredictable. Twitter API went from free to $42,000/month. Risk management is a must when building on platforms you don't control. 🧠 Choose wisely and and always have a plan B. 🚀

Are Copilot or Cursor good tools for someone just starting out on their coding/indie hacking journey? 👨‍💻 Or do they risk skipping essential coding foundational skills? I'm everywhere reading about how amazing these AI tools are, but I’m a bit skeptical. As someone who is still at the beginning.

My social media strategy 🦋 It’s not about the followers, it’s about the connections. 🤝 Building a community, relationships, and collaborating is what leads to real growth. 🚀 Followers will come if you focus on the people behind them. 🙂

I never got into Twitter / X. It felt like I’d missed the train with all those huge accounts around. 🚂 That's the reason why I was never active there. 🤷‍♂️ Here I finally found the courage to join the conversation - and I love it! 🦋
