I'm assuming that when he says Putin is a 'humanitarian', he is using it like another person might be a 'vegetarian'? i.e. Putin likes to eat people?

Kyle Griffin@kylegriffin1.bsky.social

Trump envoy Steve Witkoff just called Vladimir Putin a "humanitarian."

So the NYT is cutting more people and places out. Sadly this is going on more and more with their shift to the right.

My big news: I've left The Athletic because they wanted me to stop covering the Twins. I refused to give up my dream, so I'm betting on myself and returning to my independent roots. I need your support to make it work. Join me and let's do this together: www.aarongleeman.com/welcome-to-t...

There is absolutely no way anyone in the administration will understand a joke about the French and Indian War. That’s half the joke.🔥🔥🔥

King Charles at State Dinner: “You recently commented, Mr. President, that if it were not for the United States, European countries would be speaking German. Dare I say that if it wasn't for us, you'd be speaking French”

Well, they did decide to pause the 'Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (1977)', where corporations could bribe foreign leaders. I guess they decided it was OK internally as well?

This is brilliant

The menu ( in Welsh ) of Caffi Spam at Colwyn Bay for the unveiling of the Terry Jones statue this afternoon.

I completely agree with this - This is one reason why I don't like A.I. photos with articles - It can be hard to delete the A.I. image and keep that factual article.

Please, for the love of all things holy, if you ever learn that something you posted is fake, delete it. Do not counter with "but it feels true" or "it's an exaggeration but people will know that" or any other garbage. Delete fake images and articles. We need to be able to trust reality.

This is what I've always said. If the Candidates cannot or will not answer a direct question (other than 'Why did you kill your mother') then they should just be dropped. And if they didn't answer the first time then the question should be repeated until they do.

If they can't speak truths under oath at their confirmation hearings, how can they be trusted to administer them in court?

That had me literally laughing out loud.

Vance: Where I think Trump’s policy is most in accord with the Catholic faith is that, more than any president of my lifetime, Trump has pursued a path of peace.

I recommend to everyone to watch the movie CSA (I believe it is on YouTube) for an example of a 'uni-culture USA' if the Confederates had won. It's almost like they have.

For those who say "The Democrats are in the minority and can't do anything", obviously they can.

Breaking MS NOW: In a major defeat for Mike Johnson, 3 House Republicans bucked their leaders to block legislation that would have restricted Congress' ability to strike down Trump’s tariffs. The final tally was 214-217, with 3 Republicans joining Democrats in opposition.

As I've written before, people don’t trust institutions because institutions aren't doing the job. Democracy rests on three pillars: Verification, Deliberation, Accountability, which can be understood as being substantial, performative, and simulated. demos.co.uk/research/ver...

This is bleak: Jes Staley, currently CEO of Barclays, reassuring Epstein that popular revolt against financial elites is unlikely because capitalism and pop culture have defanged social movements, leaving people more invested in consumption than justice.

Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeare’s Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again. #Pinks #ProudBlue

There is no such thing as a 'Centralist' Democrat - There are Republicans that just can't handle voting for MAGA, and what they call 'left wing' or 'Progressive' as a pejorative. The 'left wing' and 'Progressives' ARE the FDR Democrats.

We are democratizing art. No longer will you have to pay someone who owns a data center just to generate pictures. With a pencil and notepad that costs less than a dollar, you too can create Artisanal Imagery.

The word around town is that the next big thing is Artisanal Imagery, hand-made visuals that you simply have to own if you don't want to be left behind
