Highlighting elements across themes that support the monotropism theory of attention within a lived and embodied subjectivity. Discussing the importance of challenging normative expectations of attention for creating neuroinclusive environments, particularly in the workplace. SUPER WORK!

Clive is of course correct, and the key thing here is not that Watson has succumbed to temptation: he was a bullshit artist and a crook ten years ago too. This is just what the system looks like when there is no longer any need to pretend these people work for you, not their future employers.

theguardian.comTom Watson’s move to Palantir is the latest sign of how far the rot has spread in UK politics | Clive LewisWhen a former Labour deputy leader joins a firm built on surveillance and military targeting, it deepens public cynicism – and democracy depends on trust, says Labour MP Clive Lewis

So… we just found out that GPT sol can complete a complex online behavioral/cognitive study producing nearly indistinguishable behavior and subjective reports… right as we are about to launch. Is this doomsday for online cognitive testing?

New preprint! 🎉 I analysed 1660 papers from 4 psychology journals and found materials sharing went from 9% of papers in 2015 to 82% in 2025, and these materials *do* get downloaded — a median of 135 times each. BUT shared code is often hard to run. doi.org/10.31234/osf... Let's walk through it 🧵

Many implications for more ethical, open research collaborating w/ autistic people (+other marginalised participants). Participants generally stated a pref for independent, restricted access repositories vs freely available online - timely to think about with changes at osf www.cos.io/osf-changes

cos.ioOSF Changes | Center for Open ScienceWe are preparing substantial changes to OSF that will reduce its functionality, focus OSF on its unique strengths, and move toward an integrated model with complementary services. As part of that shif...

There were concerns about possible power imbalances whereby having consented to and participated in one study, control of open data was out of their hands and there was potential for re-narrativisation in a way which could be harmful to autistic people

Participants also talked about concerns around reidentification from openly available data and questioned whether they were fully informed to consent - in some interviews participants changed their perspectives when given the opportunity to reflect on the implications of data being open

We are looking for autistic people (with and without a diagnosis) for an online study about how people experience and imagine different sounds. If you're interested please contact: stanley.jones@postgrad.manchester.ac.uk

NEW from me in @pnas.org on the risks of data sharing with qualitative research: "Today, confidentiality risks are amplified by social media, surveillance, and AI tools, which make ample data about people publicly available, thus making deidentification less effective" www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/...

We are at the mercy of Bridget Phillipson’s ability to notice things and form a credible plan in response. Unfortunately she seems literally uninterested, across her various ministerial roles, in doing anything other than prosecuting a series of vaguely related if basically incoherent culture wars.

Kent and Greenwich merge without consulting unions! #UKHE

UCU University of Kent branch@ucukent.bsky.social

For everyone else reading the news this morning about the Kent and Greenwich merger - it's been as big a shock for us too. Rumours always abound with constant cuts and redundancies, but they remained rumours until 7.45am this morning.
