If Canada can see the writing on the wall, why can’t the UK? A federation of similar sized nations (like the EU) gives us an equal voice. Kowtowing to the US - which will always be far bigger than we are - guarantees underling status.

OTD in 1938 Hitler gave a speech demanding the Sudetenland be handed to Germany. He said his countrymen were being mistreated and needed protection. Also promised it was his last territorial demand. He was lying. Imagine that happening today.

“Whether the Labour Party loosens ties or goes for full EU membership they are unlikely to win or lose votes from those on the right bloc of British politics, but they do stand to win votes from the progressive bloc if they include EU membership in their manifesto.”

bestforbritain.orgFAQ: Why is EU membership the most popular UK-EU relations policy in 628 seats? - Best for BritainA new megapoll shows that EU membership is the most popular UK-EU relations policy in all but four (628) parliamentary seats in Great Britain- the latest evidence that the UK is ready for a renewed co...

The powers-to-be are tinkering with minor reform of the UK House of Lords. That won't do. I urged the Govt to replace the House with an elected second chamber, subject to constitutional safeguards. Watch the video.

And I bet Northern Ireland would add to that tally

A new mega poll by YouGov reveals that an overwhelming majority of constituencies want to rejoin the EU. Only 4 constituencies were not sure. It’s time to put EU membership on the table. https://bestforbritain.org/uk-membership-most-popular-eu-policy-in-all-uk-seats-bar-four-megapoll-finds/

Is there any way to audit whether these billionaires are giving money out of their own pocket? Or whether they’re passing on funds donated by foreign dictators? Seems to me there isn’t. Perfect plausible deniability.

Not to be pedantic but Christopher Harborne has already given £25 million to Reform and Ben Delo £8 million. So the figure isn’t £72 million - it’s £105 million.

I resigned from ExxonMobil today. I spent the last three years doing fossil fuel extraction research at both BP and ExxonMobil. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing to maximize extraction while the window to act closes, and gambling with our lives. More below.

Christopher Harborne - the Reform mega donor who gave Farage £5m - is suing ex-Reform deputy leader, Ben Habib. The particulars of claim have now been published. And we need to talk about them. 1/

Just a reminder: leaked Russian documents showed that the their influence campaign aimed at achieving victory in Germany through a "convergence of the extremities" between the Neo Nazi AfD and the vaguely leftist Bündnis Sahra Wagenknecht—both funded and supported by the Kremlin.

Am currently reading “What Is Free Speech?” by Fara Dabhoiwala. An amazing book that looks at the history of free speech across the world. NONE of the original proponents of free speech EVER envisaged it covering the kind of vile, targeted abuse that Dawn Butler gets. Credit to her for airing it.

I’ve been sent an enormous amount of vile racist abuse and threats. Here's just a fraction. When will platforms take responsibility? I’ll expose them, hopefully the police will find them. More than ever we must stand united against racism, hate & division ✊🏾 #ButlerBlocks

The weird thing about the Tory Brexit Brigade is is that not a single one of them has (to the best of my knowledge) ever expressed any remorse or regret despite a decade of evidence against their central proposition.

David Davis (October 10th 2016), "We will make a success of Brexit" "There will be no downside to Brexit at all, and considerable upside" They promised everything, delivered poverty, barriers to trade and created a case study for the world's worst example of self-harm a nation has ever undertaken.

A man I know recently - and very proudly - announced his AI collection of short stories. He’s a nice man but, honestly, NOBODY CARES! I want to read stories about human experience written by other humans; the kind with a burning with desire to beam fresh ideas out to the world.
