Join us in the pub (or online) on Monday 21st to chat with Mark about how he added two player duels to the original Elite. We will have a Beeb there so you can test your flying skills against others! rougol.jellybaby.net/meetings/ind...

It was a super event, great to see many working Domesday systems, meet and hear from those involved in the original project and those working to preserve it and keep it alive and accessible. I found the article I contributed while at www.stowford.devon.sch.uk and also sneaked out my Domesday clock.

There's too much to say and too many photos from yesterday's Domesday at 40 event. Just to say a huge thank you to all our speakers, contributors, volunteers and staff who helped make it happen, and to everyone who joined us to revisit and celebrate 40 years of Domesday. What a brilliant day!

I’m in a game! Well a very early demonstration of one I’ll be in anyway. Saki Endo’s Ghost House will be a fun arcade style score attack game borrowing liberally from the classics, endlessly playable with secrets and scoring techniques, boss fights and the cheesiest story this side of Cheddar Gorge.

Congratulations on reaching this well-deserved milestone!

On July 19th, 2024 the Rubbish Heap launched on YouTube and today we made it to over 500 subscribers. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your support. We hope start doing special "buyers guides" videos soon to compliment the reviews. Here's how it all started in the below video⬇️

It seems fortuitous that today being 7/11 that my #randomgamesatuday is Taito's fun little Nintendo DS game Minna no Conbini. Check out my review from a couple of years ago for how it stacks up... :)

Have you ever fancied running and building a Japanese convenience store? Taito released a fun little mini game based simulation for the DS. Cute graphics, good sound, good challenges and casual gaming that suits the system perfect. Minna no Conbini is well worth checking out for #randomgamesaturday

Under a Binface government, anyone who doesn’t accept human-made climate change as fact will be sent back to school, from Year 1 right the way to A Levels, to see if anything goes in the second time round. #VoteBinface

Great first visit to The Cave. Meant to go for some time. Hermann Hauser’s visit finally got me there. I was really impressed with the Cave, its friendly team and Hermann gave an entertaining and engaging talk and was a delight to talk to. How tickled he was with my mini Beeb models made my day. ☺️

AI can get bent. No one will hire me as I’m an “inexperienced” artist. so I’ll have to make my own opportunities making my own game. Some concept artwork for the opening scenes of Saki Endo’s Ghost House.

So it'll be the 50th episode of the Rubbish Heap. I have been toying for quite a long time now transforming the Rubbish Heap into print, no big fonts, or blown up screenshots, no coffee table required. A hand drawn punk-zine vibe, raw direct reviews, info from Japan translated by myself. Thoughts?

And yes, a pro tip from the lads dredging the Chesterfield Canal in 1978: if you find a chain at the bottom of a canal, under no circumstances should you keep pulling it to see what's on the other end
