Hi, I'm the ProPublica reporter who's been tracking an unusual stat: U.S. citizens grabbed by immigration agents. I did it because the government isn’t. This is what I found.

If the FDA moves to restrict mifepristone access against the weight of decades of evidence, it will break the trust the American people have in this critical agency. How can we trust any of the FDA's decisions if it is so clearly politicized? Dr. Dara Kass gets into it @darakass.com

With abortions, mifepristone, and Tylenol all illegal, millions of American women will be be subjected to forced pregnancies without access to pain relief. Here's why these suburban moms are still standing by Donald Trump.

Dr. Deb Houry (resigned from CDC yesterday) is giving live media interviews now outside the CDC. From what I can hear, she's speaking forcefully in favor of public health and against the nonsense the CDC is facing. Understand: She is a very cautious person. This means a lot! #USAnotRFK

I am a proud member of the "I don't care" club for health professionals who do not GAF about this administrations perceptions of their commitment to health equity and ALSO the "I do not care club" for post/perimenopausal women. My dance card is getting full.

The startup world is quietly abandoning .com domains, and the data is fascinating. We analyzed 4,000+ YCombinator & Techstars startups and found: 85% of .ai/.pro/.global startups got their exact brand match. Startups aren't compromising. The old "you need .com to be credible" rule? Dead.

Identity Digital@identity.digital

54% of startups are using non-traditional domains to stand out. 🚀 This isn't a trend; it's the new standard for branding and visibility. Learn more from an article by @racsterls.bio. #domains #startups Learn more: www.identity.digital/newsroom/the-rise-of-non-traditional-domains-in-tech-startups

NEW: A July 8 letter from anti-choice groups asks HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. to allow mifepristone to be provided only up to seven weeks of pregnancy and in person, among other changes. The majority of U.S. abortions involve mifepristone. rewirenewsgroup.com/2025/07/09/a...

We put together our thoughts on why abortion didn’t define the federal election as folks thought it would.

Esther Choo@choo.bsky.social

Some people thought the attacks on abortion access would galvanize the U.S. and help secure the last election. We reflect on that optimism in this BMJ piece: www.bmj.com/content/389/...

If the U.S. government is going to take the position that, once removed from the United States, folks can’t be brought back, then it sure seems to me that federal courts should be reflexively and categorically barring *all* removals until they’re 100 percent certain that the removals are lawful.

Same. Even folks who knew they were likely going to lose their jobs are shocked at how many others were let go as well.

Dan Diamond@ddiamond.bsky.social

Hearing from all corners of HHS this morning about a total bloodletting — firings of scientists, analysts and many more as delayed RIFs take effect. Many folks didn’t see early AM email and showed up, only to be turned away when badges didn’t work. Was sent this photo of long lines at one HHS site.

BREAKING: A federal court ruled that Alabama cannot prosecute people for helping others travel across state lines to access abortion care. This is a win for our freedom of speech and our right to travel freely.

That Pitt episode hit me in my gut. Even if Noah Wyle never wins an award for this role, he will have my enduring admiration for showing the world who we are- and what we have been through. Thank you to everyone to made this show happen.

988 Lifeline - the National suicide and crisis hotline, is supported by SAMHSA at HHS Local treatment for drug addiction is supported by SAMHSA at HHS. Yesterday Trump/Musk/Kennedy cut a BILLION dollars of SAMHSA funding. They say they care mental health and drug addiction. Is that a lie too?

I just watched this week’s episode of the Pitt. Yes, this is what we do. Yes, this is how we do it. IMHO this one of the most important shows on TV right now. The only way out is through. Let’s start solving these problems together.

There is zero objective evidence so far that any law was broken - but a lot of objective evidence that these clinics were serving the prenatal needs of pregnant patients in Texas. How pro-life….

Robin Marty @robinmarty.com

Maybe the big story isn’t “Texas midwife charged with alleged illegal abortions” but “Texas attacks and closes three clinics providing prenatal care for low income Spanish speakers.”
