This has nothing to do with fraud. The agents Trump allegedly sent to investigate fraud are shooting protesters and arresting children. His DOJ is gutting the U.S. Attorney’s Office and crippling their ability to prosecute fraud. And every week Trump pardons another fraudster.

Dr Oz, with Vance standing behind him, announces that "we're going to for the first time take a massive action to defer funds to a state," then details they are defending $259m of funding for Medicaid programs in Minnesota that take care of pregnant women, seniors, and people with disabilities

Alex Pretti "used to tell people off when they made sexist comments to female physicians. He bought me coffee when I had a really bad day as an intern...I laughed alongside him daily. He made a point to teach medical residents without judgement, but with a smile on his face and a joke."

This is a moral moment, together the people are strong. We the people must work together to lead the leaders to a better America!

Sen. Cory Booker@booker.senate.gov

This is a moral moment in America. Sitting on the Capitol steps with Leader Hakeem Jeffries this morning to discuss what’s at stake with Trump’s budget and affirm the need for collective action to protect Medicaid, food assistance, and other safety net programs. @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social

This is clearly more of the bully mentality. Cause fear!

This is not normal. The Administration's arrest of a sitting judge in Wisconsin is a drastic move that threatens the rule of law. While we don’t have all the details, this is a grave step and undermines our system of checks and balances.

One of the wilder political things in recent history is that Project 2025 publicly released a 900 page document laying out their plans to roll back 100 years of human progress and then during the campaign Republicans just said "no we're not :)" and then they won and now they're doing it all.

Another instance of the art of the deal man not being able to make a deal or choosing not to? Clearly, the latter, so isn’t that defying SCOTUS?

In a meeting with Trump, El Salvador's president refused to return a man the U.S. illegally deported. Attorney General Pam Bondi also insisted "that's not up to us."

If you're in congress and you aren't publicly in favor of banning the trading of individual stocks by people in congress, get your head out of your fucking ass.

While he boasts about his "art of the deal," millions of working Americans watched their 529 and 401k accounts plummet wildly down. The connected insiders with advance notice cashed in perfectly while regular families absorbed all the stress and uncertainty.

Rep. Steven Horsford to Greer: "So the trade representative hasn't spoken to the POTUS about a global reordering of trade, but yet he announced it on a tweet? WTF! Who is in charge? It looks like your boss just pulled the rug out from under you. There is no strategy ... is this market manipulation?"

Donald Trump's tariffs are a $3,800-a-year tax on your family. Everything you buy – from coffee, to cars, to clothes – is about to get a lot more expensive.

The President may claim it's Liberation Day, but the American people know it’s National Sales Tax Day. And in the Senate, we are fighting back against these reckless tariffs.

Trump says his tariffs will raise $6 trillion. Assuming that's over 10 years, that's $600 billion per year. There are 134 million households, so this is nearly $5,000 per household per year. And it's like a sales tax, so it's a flat tax. A huge hit to the budgets of working folks.

Thank you, Senator Booker, for your unwavering strength and courage in standing up for what’s right. Your record-breaking Senate floor speech is a powerful testament to the fight for justice, democracy, and the well-being of millions.

I knew Cory slightly at Stanford (he knew everyone slightly; he’s that kind of guy) and always respected and admired him, which is not the same as always agreeing with him. But this is the sort of Cory he should be more often.

Cory Booker has just crossed the 19 hour line. Five hours and 13 minutes more and he will break Strom Thurmond's record for the longest speech in the history of the U.S. Senate. talkingpointsmemo.com/news/inside-...

The latest: “Elon Musk seeks to rally support for impeachment of judge who ruled against Trump” Hey Republicans in Congress: Are you elected officials or subjects to a king and his billionaire jester? 👑 🤴 Can you stand against Musk & stand UP for the rule of law just once?

Buybacks are corporate poison that devastate long-term business health while fattening exec wallets. They systematically drain resources that should fuel innovation, research, and genuine growth. They represent the triumph of short-term financial manipulation over sustainable business development.

Robert Reich@rbreich.bsky.social

The 100 lowest-paying major US corporations spent $522B on stock buybacks from 2019 to 2023.   Buybacks artificially boost share prices and inflate CEO pay. The typical worker at these companies earned just $34k.  Meanwhile, the average CEO was paid $14.7M. See the problem?

It took seeing adult bullies to understand that my childhood bullies didn’t even really want to hurt me, they just wanted to feel powerful and how I felt about it wasn’t even in the equation. I can’t imagine someone not outgrowing that, but apparently it happens quite a lot!
