I’m excited to share that Unbound—the dance film I'm in featuring people with #MECFS—will be presented at the inaugural World Deaf & Disabled Dance Film Festival, November 6-7, in San Francisco. Come see Unbound on the big screen if you're there! ybca.org/event/2026-w...

And I need to figure out how best to add to the chorus of voices at a large scale, or who else should be coordinated together. So I'm all ears if you have thoughts. And I have PEM, so bye for now. 🤡

Since then: It has breached my little bubble and I'm hearing from many current patients, especially on IG, who are just as mad. People who wish they were patients and need a similar type of care are also adding their voices.

I'm not excited about our BC Conservative gov, but regardless of who got in, the job was always going to be to cause enough of a ruckus to get our clinic back. So now I'm thinking about how to help coordinate enough people to relentlessly tell our reps and the health ministry to change this.

One remarkable dynamic when it comes to how health care systems fail chronic illnesses like Long Covid and ME/CFS is that every single assessment, any time in any country, has concluded that it's completely inadequate and must change. And nothing ever changes. Never has, not even one bit.

And another thing I remembered after thinking a tiny bit more (in my bathrobe) is that these days, the performance of most comms delivered by algo depends a lot on how angry it might make someone. You know, if we must define "performance" as clicks or likes or re-toots or whatever.

And because the algorithm’s rules are hidden, those engagement bait habits every content creator uses have piled up over time, with some sticking around long after they lose effectiveness vs the changing algo. Because it’s impossible to REALLY know why your post was seen by 200 or 20,000 people.

Not that there couldn’t be/isn’t silencing based on keywords, but the core problem is that the rules are opaque on purpose, which puts all the power in a single California office building. And every cipher word we come up with is going to be added to the Meta naughty list anyway.

Hey @bcndpcaucus.bsky.social, I’m one of these 8,500 people! Why don’t we deserve healthcare? Your cut to MSP funding for the BC-CLMF clinic will have *massive* repercussions for all of us #MECFS #LongCovid patients in the province. Your decision will keep more of us trapped in bed.

The BCNDP has chosen to deprive up to 8,500 severely ill, often bedbound people of telehealth access to one of the only LC clinics in BC. cheknews.ca/b-c-quietly-... Just as COVID is surging again and creating 1000s of new patients. Tell your candidates: lifelinebc.ca

@bcndpcaucus.bsky.social You’re putting one of the only resources we have into the wood chipper. But you can reverse course. BC-CLMF is incredible. It serves an underfunded, under-researched group of chronically ill folks. IMO it’s an incredible case study for what’s possible.

This is the disease for which I research and advocate: #MECFS. Even mild presentation is life-changing, and this is what severe looks like. People are surprised so many of us were athletes. They want to believe this can only happen to people who were already unwell. www.bbc.com/sport/athlet...

What is #MECFS? A widespread, under-researched, life-stealing chronic illness. ⬇️⬇️⬇️

I'm a big believer in finding moments of joy in the now, and I have a lot to be thankful for. But ME/CFS is such a devastating disorder—not just for us sufferers, but also for our caregivers. And without more funding to find biomarkers, official treatments and a cure, our lives are pretty grim.

I didn't mince my words. Alberta's anti-immigration referendum questions are racist. They are also a potential disaster for Alberta's economy. Last night, I rose in the Senate to denounce them - and to thank all the thousands of Albertans fighting against them. Please share. #notothenine #cdnpoli

It should be a scandal, the way ME/CFS and Long COVID patients are treated. Millions and millions of people. Most of us are too tired to effectively advocate, which is why it’s such a relief to see real attention. Help this break containment!

Here's today's column on the astonishing, ongoing mistreatment of people with #ME/CFS. Please spread it far and wide: the only thing which can break the media's wall of indifference is seeing an article about the issue go viral. Thank you. 1/2 www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
