"According to Anchorage police, Peltola’s vehicle was stopped at a red light at O'Malley Road and Lake Otis Parkway when it was rear-ended" So someone just accidentally struck her car that was stopped at a red light?! And hit her car so hard it caused it hit the car in front of Peltola's?
WOW: Alaska Democratic Senate candidate Mary Peltola delays campaign events after sustaining ‘minor injuries’ in car crash. So just days after Trump files suit claiming Alaska election is already filled with fraud someone hits her car. Was this more MAGA terrorism? www.nbcnews.com/politics/202...

I’m not a political journalist, so was gladly surprised at the community I found here last night. To Americans anxious about the upcoming elections, a key thing we learned in Brazil that might help you: DO NOT engage with the far-right online. Don’t share rage bait. Amplify your people. Ignore them.

New in PN: Ramaswamy discovers that voters have their limits "This is the nature of today’s right-wing bubble, whose residents are not only acculturated to a particular political style — cruel, often hateful — but become convinced it’s the only effective way to do politics, & any other way is weak"

I honestly think this is accurate - Ramaswamy's biggest failure this campaign cycle was not defining himself or raising his public profile, and for a lot of voters, this was the first time they'd heard anything substantive about him
Is the Ramaswamy attack ad failing? "'I just did a poll Wednesday and Thursday in Ohio,' [pollster John] Zogby told Newsmax's 'Sunday Agenda.' 'By the time the poll was averaged over the two nights, Amy Acton was up by 9 and Sherrod Brown by 11 or 12,' Zogby said." www.msn.com/en-us/news/o...

this is honestly invigorating—maybe because the US far right has been on the rise most of my life, maybe because it suggests why the far right being unpopular is not enough. mostly: because it gives us something we can do
Many comments on the great election victories in Brazil and Serbia state that the authorian right is in decline or that voters have rejected far-right authoritarianism. That is a wrong interpretation of what happened. Progressive movements mobilized and beat the authoritarian right. That's different

Turnout did it. Lula lost round one by 2.2 million votes and won the runoff by 4.3 million, 51.75% to 48.25%. Abstention fell from a record 21% to 19%, mostly among voters who live far from polling stations. Strongmen count on people staying home. Brazil and Serbia didn’t.
