I spend far too much time online and it’s my central life challenge to figure out how to disconnect more thoroughly but every once in a while the internet delivers me something i can get unabashedly obsessed with and right now it’s the Muppets-Meets-Tom-Waits musical stylings of Groggy Jones

Patching and rebooting my computer lately is an exercise in "what is Firefox goofing around with now?" (this time it was mostly extra gradients and new icons for grouped tabs)

Last week my dryer broke and I had to replace its heating coil. Whirlpool sent me a letter about signing up for their $9.99/mnth appliance protection plan. So in the 5 years I've had it, that would have been just under $600. My DIY Repair was around $50 in parts and a few hours of my time.

If Oregon Department of Transportation was thinking about the future of transportation we'd have more of this and fewer billions poured into freeway expansions.

Separate cycle tracks alongside rural main roads give the elderly or people with mobility issues far more freedom. Someone on a mobility scooter can travel safely from town to town, without having to rely on a car or public transport. This is what accessible transport infrastructure looks like.

Two good books and a door stop. Still probably buying this.

society is so complex and everything is so interconnected. (yeah, i know, i'm a deep thinker.) for example. good EV charging infrastructure in the USA can't exist without social services, healthcare, drug treatment programs, living wages, and other steps to disincentivize selling scrap copper 🥲

“You couldn’t make up a better allegory for the disproportionality in state funding between policing and public housing.”

When a truck is lifted and has big stupid tires, this is what I see.

A data center was just shut down in Wisconsin after the town council refused to have private talks with the developer and told them everything would include public approval That’s how it’s done, folks

I want to know the actual material cost of manufacture on a diabetic test strip. Shit should be on a shelf to grab for free but instead it’s ten hours of dicking around with insurance that doesn’t want to do anything for anyone.

Searching for info about this cellular outage. But Mint Mobile has a cute fox mascot, so if you search Mint Mobile on Bsky you get several explicit furry fan art images on the first page of results.
