GM. We are going to win. An internet where 4 corporations wall us all into their surveillance state and make us pay rent forever is just incompatible with human flourishing. The only question is how long it takes everyone propping up history's worst billionaires to figure this out.

New Zealand’s High Court has ruled that the ban on new puberty blocker prescriptions for trans young people was unlawful and discriminatory. The decision could give fresh momentum to calls to reverse restrictions in the UK! 🤞

We're working with London's boroughs to grow our Cycleway Network and enable more people to safely cycle around the capital. I'm looking forward to working with @LBHF who, last night, approved the new Olympia to Hammersmith section of Cycleway 9. 👏👏Cllr Nicole Trehy 🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲

For decades too many junctions in London haven't had pedestrian signals - TfL is upgrading these to make it safer for people crossing these busy roads. Good to see the A217 London Rd / Cricket Green junction completed.

Last week we proudly shared the successes & insights of our groundbreaking, Wheels4Me loan scheme; providing free, inclusive cycle loans in our mission to 'make cycle share, fair'. Though the scheme is currently paused while we look for new funding, we can't wait to bring this important service back

One of the last projects I set in motion before I left @wearepossible.bsky.social has finally borne fruit: the School Run Cruncher! TL;DR? YES, it does indeed look like school run traffic to private schools is disproportionately responsible for morning rush hour congestion. You’re welcome!

wearepossible.orgPrivate schools, public pollution: the need to better understand school run congestion — PossibleThe school run is one of the most visible sources of traffic in our towns and cities, with 25% of weekday morning car trips in London being trips to school. Floating bus stops are a simple way to make busy streets work better for everyone. Buses do not get held up by cyclists, while people cycling get a continuous, protected route instead of being forced into traffic. Safer cycling, quicker bus journeys and streets that work for people.

Improvements in air pollution are leading to brighter, smarter toddlers. A New York study adds to the growing evidence that air pollution is a fixable problem and that health improves when air pollution is reduced. My latest for @theguardian.com www.theguardian.com/environment/...

For decision makers, the lesson is clear: effective leadership requires looking beyond the intensive minority and finding ways to understand the preferences of the wider public. In Budapest, when residents were asked directly, they chose a bridge designed for moving people rather than private cars.🔚

In our first few months of owning an EV I was happy to see an average efficiency of just over 4 miles/kWh. Pretty good! Compare that to our e-bike, which I've just seen in our service report: "An efficiency of 7.52 Wh/km converts to approximately ***82.6 miles per kWh***" 😮🤯

Comparing putting a pedestrian crossing outside a residential care home to offering driving lessons outside a pub is alarming, particularly from someone with “inclusion” in their bio. It reflects underlying ageism and a lack of thinking re: mobility equity, systems & accessibility precedents. 🧵

Since everyone’s arguing about speed cameras, let’s keep a couple facts in mind: 1) Research show that camera enforcement is much more popular than the media implies – in suburbs as well as cities. Lesson: Don’t conflate a few angry car owners with “public opinion.” (cont'd)

In a more rational world we'd be having a conversation about motor manufacturers paying reparations for all the avoidable harm they've created, not delaying the marginal de-grotification of their business model because they'd find it inconvenient
