Labour, as a mid-term government, can be pretty satisfied with losing just four points, although the Greens moving up 22 points after the week they've had should help Burnham and co. avoid complacency.

The next few months matter enormously. Political decisions taken now could lock Britain into a slightly softer Brexit for years — or open the road back to Europe. We should be clear about the minimum we want: Freedom of Movement of goods, services, people and capital.

I wanted to speak on an amendment to motion EO2 Zionism is racism at Green Party conference today, but was not called on. I’ve copied over what I would have said in the next posts. I was heartbroken this amendment fell and that the vote went against providing this protection for Jewish members.

6. So all in all, I would encourage progressive pro-EU thinkers not to get too despondent if Reform do rather well this time round. It doesn’t necessarily mean anything at national level (or in terms of support for continued Brexit)

5. It common for voters to vote against the party in government for local elections to express frustration. That’s they are prepared to try out Reform (the new kid on the block) rather than the Conservatives tells you all you need to know about what they think of the Conservatives.

4. There are Reform voters who want to rejoin the EU. Yes, incredibly 11% of Reform voters are pro-EU.

3. Some Reform voters are just frustrated and don’t know who to vote for and are voting “reform” because they want political “reform”. In fact some say they want Proportional Representation. The name of the party is why they are choosing Reform, either consciously or subconsciously.

2. Some Reform voters just like Thatcherite economic ideas and see Labour’s (and the Conservative’s) taxation as excessive.

Why you shouldn’t be depressed about seeing a lot of support for Reform: 1. Not all Reform voters agree with Reform’s policies. In fact, some Reform supporters strongly disagree with their stance on immigration.

The stretch target for the Outsiders exhibition was three venues and 20,000 visitors. So far it’s been seen by around 120,000 visitors and has had 12 bookings. The feedback on the exhibition has been overwhelmingly positive with many people saying it has changed their views on homelessness.
