Stop what you are doing and look at this lovely story. A photography student in the 80s took pictures of punks and mods on the street in Preston. He’s now tracked them down and photographed them again. The pictures and stories are really ❤️ www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

We've had our house more than 10 years now, and I have only just learned that windows have a winter and summer setting. Been moaning about drafty windows for years! 🤦‍♂️

My apologies to anyone else who’s old enough not to want to be reminded just how fucking long ago it was, but: today is the 41st anniversary of the release of Cloudbusting—so it must be time to tell you about Wilhelm Reich and his orgasmatron...

Just a casual reminder that this is what a games company looks like rather than a software company. They don't make them like this anymore. If you want games that you can buy and keep without paying Forever subs, you need to support companies like this. Also. It's a great game

Answer: metal never on metal, nor colour on colour. Gold and silver are the metals, so a gold lion on silver breaks it. The point is contrast. Famous exception: Jerusalem, gold crosses on silver. Which house in your campaign breaks the rule?

My kid has started a Letterboxd list called Killer Sweaters for films where the killer wears a great sweater and they've asked me to throw it out to Bluesky for more because "that's the kind of thing those weirdos like to do"

15 thousand dollars raised over the past 4 hours, I would like to thank everyone who donated, shared, commented. I also want to thank everyone who still supports Ukraine, understanding that the war will continue until Russia has the capacity to wage one. givebutter.com/liberty-engi...

Happy 90th birthday, Brian Blessed Sorry, that should read: HAPPY 90TH BIRTHDAY, BRIAN BLESSED

Odd This Day@oddthisday.bsky.social

I have another Brian Blessed story, which is second hand, but… a friend of mine worked on Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the Palladium, in which BB played Baron Bomburst. Apparently, he kept buying extra props from Hamleys on his way in to the theatre…

Anyway. This is why technically, in pure mileage terms, the route from my house to my school (on the other side of town) as a kid in Stevenage was SHORTER by bike than it was by car. And the two routes ran parallel most of the way. But I only needed to go on an actual road for 150m of it.

RIP Jeffrey Archer, not a day goes by when I don't think about the judge in his 1987 libel case (which Archer "won" by doing a bunch of perjury) summing up for the jury by going "would a guilty man have such a hot wife". one of the most insane legal moments of all time

@theguardian.com I contribute to you more than I need in a monthly sub because we have to counter the billionaire press. But with that sub comes expectations of fairness and relevance. Freedom of the press is just that, we don't have the bandwidth for these kind of prejudices.

It’s strange how so called liberal media outlets like the Guardian are only interested in publishing the work of working class photographers who are safe and compliant and not a “gobby Northern twat” like me.

@guygavrielkay.bsky.social Have to admit I can't remember if I read Tigana, and probably won't know for a few hundred pages. This is for my Dead Library where I'm trying to recreate what I had 30+ years ago including the right EU edition and cover. This is the original Penguin from 1990.
