#BirdOfTheDay is #Branched, birds on thin branches. The Alt theme is #Grounded, birds standing on the ground Here’s one of each! A palm warbler hanging loose and a red-tailed hawk going for a jog in a cemetery.

Today's #BirdOfTheDay theme is #OnOneLeg, birds balancing on one leg. Big mama red-tailed hawk does a big stretch while supervising her kiddos (out of frame, eating the squirrel she just brought em)

I don’t really pay much attention to the 4 favourites on my Letterboxd, because I know my tastes are all over the place and change with the winds. I just put up whatever last thing I have 5 stars and knock off the oldest. Just went to see what I got on there and uhhh am I okay

For my taste, the Killing and Eyes Wide Shut slip in between Dr Strangelove and the Shining, but otherwise it's nice to feel like the average Kubrick enjoyer 👍

As the Criterion Collection releases their mammoth The Complete Kubrick box set, we take a look at how the Letterboxd community ranks all thirteen features made by the legendary filmmaker. Read the full story on Journal: https://boxd.it/3s6

Today’s #BirdOfTheDay is #Turdidae, great excuse to share this eastern bluebird I saw yesterday. Not the greatest photos but these are relatively rare in these parts (the first I’ve seen in person!) and I’ve always loved them!

An all bangers edition of #LastFourWatched My favourite J-horror A chill and normal hang out with new friends An anti-war drama with more harps than you’d expect in an anti-war drama Wherein we finally get Mahershala a sword

Happy #LetterboxdFriday! Time to post your #LastFourWatched 💖

Any American Verhoeven movie really. Going farther back I’d say Bertolucci’s The Conformist is the earliest version I’ve seen that accurately depicts the victimized mentality coupled with the craven cowardice we see from right wingers. It’s big coup de grace is realizing how lame they are.

Is there a work of art that was created well before the current era that you feel explains Trump and MAGA and everything better than anything contemporary? For me it’s Assassins (1990) but I’m curious if other people have one.

The music of Seinfeld, divorced from the show itself, is nothing short of disgusting. Imagine if the show didn’t exist but the music somehow did. Hearing it, your face would twist in angry revulsion

On this day in 1929, Graeme Ferguson was born in Toronto. An experimental filmmaker, he was a co-founder of IMAX. He served as president of IMAX from 1970 to 1990. He was awarded a Special Achievement Genie in 1983 and the Order of Canada in 1992. 📸 Roger Scruggs

If you’re a vegetarian, can you eat plant-type Pokémon? Like… you could eat the flowering part of the venusaur, sure, but like can I just mow down on an oddish or vileplume that are, potentially, entirely plant matter? Or is a part of them meat?

DO NOT SEEK THE TREASURE One of my favorite scenes from O Brother Where Art Thou. I figured I should try to draw all 3 of the Soggy bottom boys, why not. #art #comic

Primetime was everything I'd hoped for. Not mentioned in my review: the soundtrack is excellent. There's a Herrmann-esque quality to the whole thing. The straight strings parts are the most obvious--so crunchy and full of texture--but even the parts with electronics behind it don't lose that core.

letterboxd.comA ★★★★½ review of Primetime (2026)“What would have happened if I wasn’t there?” Absolutely in love with the visual language of this film. The crisp, oversaturated look intensifies everything, so much excellent closeup work, and the co...

Got to see Ramon Kataquapit speak as a founder of Okiniwak a few days ago. This guy gets it and is able to relate these giant situations complicated by our governments to everyday issues. Give this guy you attention!! (and money)
