Low Traffic Neighbourhoods - 'more research need'.. Well from 2022 to 2025, funded by the NIHR, we (& colleagues) did that research. And we have 10(!!) peer reviewed articles so far, with more on the way. Here's a summary of our papers so far (all open access so get reading):

How accessible are the bus stops where you live? Our latest report highlights problems like: β€’ Not enough space to manoeuvre a wheelchair β€’ No dropped kerb β€’ No seating β€’ No timetables - or timetables that are too small or high up for people to read. #BetterBusStops

It's a month until #CleanAirNight. Take 2 minutes today to find out why we're calling for action on #AirPollution from wood burning. Spoiler: burning wood and solid fuels at home releases tiny particles of soot and dust that go deep into our organs, causing us #Health damage.

Today marks the third anniversary of the horrific October 7 attacks. In pursuit of peace and justice for Israelis and Palestinians, today I remember those lost, hurt, and taken on that harrowing day.

I make a small regular donation to these people. Non-violent campaigning and actions by Jews and Palestinians against injustices, at some personal risk to themselves.

There has been a noticeable lack of serious reaction over Turkish persecution of LGBTQIA+ community from the global community. As in many other countries, TΓΌrkiye tries to mask persecution by claiming being LGBTQIA+ isn't illegal and then using "obscenity laws". www.theguardian.com/global-devel...

I did have a look at recent pedestrian deaths last night and it is shocking. It is almost invisible - many of the deaths don't even get reported in the local news. Here are a few of the recent ones:

I don’t see the outrage, the horror the posts, the call for change about driver and car carnage. Just silence about the 29000 KSIs every year. Every year. Here’s a taste from the last couple of days… bsky.app/profile/sbar...

There's been extensive research on floating bus stops, where cycle tracks pass bus stops on a main road. They need to be designed well - but the claims they're dangerous just don't match the evidence. Without them, cycling won't be inclusive & safe for everyone. www.standard.co.uk/news/london/...
