Walking away from Omelas, are you? On our nice walkable infrastructure, mind you. Anywhere else you'd have to drive away from, but not Omelas. There's also an accessible shuttle every 15 minutes, but nooooooo, don't let me slow you down, you've got an Omelas to walk away from, Mr. Ethical.

My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

1% of a crowd (if that's what we're calling 300 people in a "big arena) having answered a political poll is WAY more than you'd expect. If Johnson were telling the truth (LOL, I know) then it would mean the polls are massively skewed towards dead-ender Republicans.

Mike Johnson: "When I'm in these big arenas, I ask for hands -- 'Show me your hand if you've answered a poll in the last six months.' There will be like three hands among 300 people. I'm telling you, these polls are off. All of them."

D-R turnout gap swing is everywhere, including key Black Belt counties, the huge vote blocks in Wake and Mecklenburg, and almost all of Western NC. The breadth of these numbers are so strong that I think the NCGA House is in play.

The "Ukraine took out Russian trollbots" story isn't what it's cracked up to be. But then Ukraine is trying to win a war and while the average Russian doesn't care about some German neo-Nazi winning a local election, they do care if their debit cards stop working, which is what's actually happening.

As the Chinese scam industry spreads beyond Asia’s fortified compounds, it’s become cheaper and easier to run β€” thanks to AI β€” and harder to kill.

Had a typical 100% scripted encounter with a CSR last night. She had just been addressing me as "sir," but at one point she asked for my first name, which isn't on the account I was calling about. I said "Matt." She then proceeded to refer to me as "Sir Matt" in every sentence.

I ain't mad at her. I know what her cubicle looks like. She is reading the lines that come up on a screen and if she deviates from that too much she gets fired. This wasn't a problem with her English proficiency, it was her being a dutiful employee. But someone's gotta fix that script ffs!

Okay, so in this war that is very serious and very necessary and which is still ongoing even though we have already declared victory fifty times, we are unilaterally disarming for a month and telling our adversary, in public, in writing, that it's because of domestic political weakness. Whew!
