2022: This underappreciated fighting game got a fanmade rollback patch 2026: This underappreciated fighting game got a fanmade rollback patch

Marisa/Winter is fun. This is the first time in a while Illusion Laser in and of itself has felt great to me. The power here is so concentrated you really annihilate anything right in front of her but naturally struggle laterally. Imo it should always be this extreme.

Focusing all of her spread lasers into one point and stacking the damage with the season option laser feels great, too. I love her newer Froggy Missiles from TD onward but this shot feels to me like ZUN finally found the proper balance for one of Marisa's defining shot types,

rather than making her strong with more general or "stolen" shot types like the froggy missiles or the MoF exclusive Remilia Familiar shot she has as her C type.

i need all discourses about whether ai is actually useful for certain tasks or if not using it is a privilege (???) to cease immediately until they stop selling compute at a multi-billion dollar loss

This is why I hate the “it has to be subtle!!!” Critique of queer media. The fact that we can’t just say what we are or what the character is is so reductive and constraining to so many queer writers. Don’t let cis people dictate how you show you identity. They don’t know what they’re saying.

JenWave1995@jenwave1995.bsky.social

When trans creators are subtle, people dismiss the trans subtext as “headcanon.” When trans creators are loud and proud, people call it “obnoxious” and “cringe.” They just don’t want us to be represented in media at all. Because they don’t want us to exist at all.

NEW: I spoke with current and former EA employees to understand how the latest layoff round played out and the realities of daily life at the U.S. publisher. The short version? EA is controlled by an executive class that "cannot fail, only be failed." Workers, then, will always pay the price.

People talk about Bluesky users "being in a bubble" like it's a bad thing but the more I think about it the more I kinda like it? A protective bubble I could deploy for me and my friends sounds great. I wouldn't want to be in it all the time though, maybe if it had a 10 second cooldown and 650 HP?

That's not because of AI. That's a company eating an upfront cost to 'Right Size' their company for an incoming Recession.

Something I spoke about before was how transphobia is often an expression of misogyny, it gives people who hate women an outlet and sets trans women up as a class of women it's socially okay to be misogynistic towards, while also providing an ideological justification for that misogyny.

Samantha Brennan@samanthabrennan.bsky.social

A new survey of 1,000 American adults found that the strongest supporters of transgender sports bans are not the people who admire women most: they are the people who hold the most hostile views about women. www.helenwebberley.com/news/transge...

There are a great many more ephemeral moments that can't be represented properly with a screenshot. The fade to credits in Friends of Ringo Ishikawa. Returning to the title screen of Xenoblade Chronicles after completing the story. Winning money from fighting games for the first time.

The feelings I was left with after shotgunning Psychopomp or El Shaddai. There are so many moments that will stick with me for as long as I draw breath. This is a truly wonderful medium capable of so much. These are just some of the first to come to mind, and easiest to show off in a screenshot.

Also this entire sequence from Tsumihoroboshi was a precision strike on me. I broke out crying despite there being no high stakes or tension in this scene solely because Rena's situation and thoughts here were so exactly a reflection of my past.

The more i see stuff like this from people heading projects the more i think that the ability to actually hit send on a work, warts and all, is a skill that is necessary lest the allure of "perfect" eat everything and everyone you love

John Michonski@john.gamesline.net

Reading this Famitsu interview Uchikoshi did and it seems that the reason the Crash Keys game was canceled was because *Uchikoshi* wanted to use AI, not the publisher. This snippet is driving me nuts. Makes all the posturing with Hundred Line read extremely shallow.

the part of the Uchikoshi interview where he uses the idea of positioning something exactly to "match his vision" and how with a person it would get frustrating but AI would let him get it perfect gives me the idea that he has been told about AI way more than he has actually used it

The internet can be pretty gullible about tech products, but congrats to everyone who called exactly what this was going to be used for from the first moment they saw it.

I appreciate that people want a new Mass Effect, but the future where fans advocate for the work itself and not the people who make it is the one the vultures at EA want. If you'll take it however you get it, they can keep treating people who make what you love as expendable.
