So a movie I paid to purchase on YouTube has disappeared. My disappointment is compounded by the fact that Iβve had it downloaded on my phone for years and canβt even watch the download. #SupportPhysicalMedia
(I own it on disc, but itβs the movie I watch on vacation when nothing else is on)
Iβm running for Prime Minister on a platform of making it illegal for hotels to have motion smoothing turned on on their TVs if the provided remote canβt access the settings.
My Garth Marenghiβs Darkplace DVD just arrived. Mix some of that with the last of my Count Chocula and a ticket to Suspiria shortly, and Halloween vacation is off to a good start.
For the Horror At Sea prompt of #Hooptober I'm technically going under the sea (π΅π¦π΅) while also checking off one of my two Manfredini movies. A little pissed that the version of this on Crave was French only, so now I'm $5 out of pocket.
Ok, wrapping up the #Hooptober prompts for 5 Sequels and 1 Black Director. I wasn't super fond of the last one, but that was mostly due to the overediting so I'm hoping DaCosta can help turn it around.
Time to start polishing off the 5 Sequels #Hooptober prompt with a movie I've been putting off for a while. Didn't have a lot of interest in this one, but The Bone Temple has some good buzz so I figured I'd catch up.
I felt like I needed a break after The Dentist 2 and The Ugly Stepsister, so what do I pick... the film about someone investigating brutal snuff films... I swear when this #Hooptober is over it's nothing but romcoms for me for a month.
Time for the fifth country of #Hooptober. I may finish off the category, but I should also try and get through Carrie before my Prime expires. October is too busy.
This did not do well for my fear of needles, I'll say that much.
It's Slasher week for #ZombieSteve52 which also leaves room for #Hooptober crossover as I finish my Screaming Mad George prompt and make some headway on my required sequels. When I picked this I was sure I had seen the original. Whoops.
This week for #ZombieSteve52 it's "A film from a famous director you've never watched", and while Sorkin is mostly famous as a writer (and I've seen things he's written) he got some props for The Trial of the Chicago 7 and I've never seen anything he directed... plus I wanted to see this.
Country 4 of 6 for #Hooptober and while it seems questionable if it's a horror film, it's slapped with the genre tag all over Letterboxd and last year we all watched Wizard Of Oz so I will take no further questions. Still, it's effectively creepy so far. Also my fourth Kurosawa movie of 2026.
Okay, I guess I'm wrapping up my nine decades of #Hooptober, adding another country to my roster, and doing my Gough prompt. Gough is such slime in this, it's hard to believe he plays the best Alfred later.
Was hoping to wrap up the nine decades of #Hooptober tonight... but this was so hard to get into... at least it wraps up the Lugosi prompt for me. The weird colorization didn't help.
It's Steve Miner time for #Hooptober and also inching toward the nine required decades. At least it's better than Day of the Dead 2: Contagium so far, which ironically came out three years earlier.
Started listening to @screendrafts.bsky.social in August 2019 when the Freddy Vs Jason draft dropped. Just listened to my 394th main feed episode with Werewolves. Took seven years, but I'm finally caught up. Appropriately bracketed by what I consider two of Billy Ray's worst takes. π
It's the worst time of the year... the #Hooptober prompt to watch the worst rated film you can get your hands on. I was halfway through the Screen Drafts episode about best werewolf movies when I started this, and I doubt it's going to pop up in the second half.
It's 70s week for #ZombieSteve52, and I have a 70s movie to watch for #Hooptober. Everything's coming up Milhouse. It's also my Hooptober film for "1 film with 'devil' in the title". Added bonus, it's got Christopher Lee.
Like many #Hooptober participants I'm letting the two Bela Lugosi films also cover two of my nine decades. I'm also returning to the realm of films based, often loosely, on the works of Poe after doing a good chunk of the Corman/Poe Cycle last year.
It's Fall week for #ZombieSteve52 and I'm hoping an anthology full of Halloween stories will qualify, but this franchise has let me down before. Worse comes to worse, it's still one of my five sequels and nine decades for #Hooptober.
It's school/college week for #ZombieSteve52 and much like school/college I forgot this was due and am squeezing it in just under the deadline. I had Tesis on my Hooptober list and debated it, but it's been a long day and a two hour French film didn't feel as easy on the head as Buster Keaton.
The games that made me.
In many cases these aren't my favorites within their respective series but I chose the ones that got me hooked.

This aired just the once in 1998 on the live SNL show for which McKay wrote it.
It was effectively banned as it never aired again.
I wonder why.
MEDIA-OPOLY
let me proclaim with my WHOLE CHEST that @erikaishii.bsky.social is a true buckaroo who proves love. we actually know each other in my unmasked way (i dont think she was aware of this so SURPRISE) and erikas just SO kind and creative and enthusiastic about makin art. any project is lucky to have her
I was already honored to be a voice in their game, but now Iβm DOUBLY grateful to have @doublefine.comβs continued support as they unabashedly celebrate our collab!
(And please donβt worry. While my success & public joy seem to be upsetting to some, I feel like Iβm getting to live my dream life!)
Just saw this dropped!! I used the recent Inde Navarette/Jeff S*eider discourse to write about Hollywood's long history of male entertainment journalists writing on women for @salon.com.

Ok, now I'm officially kicking off my #Hooptober season with a movie that's been on my radar for a while, but was very tough to find until recently. Now that I'm part way into it, I'm regretting the choice. Really not my style.
#Hooptober 13 begins today, so I'm crossing off the only rewatch on my list. (plus it's my trivia night, so I don't know if I can squeeze in a feature film later)
I loved eating Chik-Fil-A. Can't remember the last time I ate there. I used to go to Hobby Lobby weekly. Haven't walked into one in over a decade. I enjoyed Harry Potter, past tense.
My life is not wanting of joy without these things the way it would be without all my LGBTQIA+ friends. Choose love.
It's Eric Roberts week for #ZombieSteve52. I've seen half of Christopher Eccleston's first episode when it first aired and a minute or two of some older ones back when Samsung TV had a Doctor Who Channel, so I'm going into the more familiar with the works of Eric Roberts than anything else.
It's "A Movie Everybody but you has seen" week for #ZombieSteve52 and while I did have a few movies with with a lot more viewers, this was a $0.99 rental, is already in the 2 Million Watched Club, and is probably the biggest movie of 2026 I haven't already seen.
It's Animation week for #ZombieSteve52 and I just grabbed this to continue through the work of Makoto Ueda. Coincidence, or future time travelling me setting off a chain of events that need to happen in order for the future to occur... That makes sense if you know Makoto Ueda.
