Just watched a video on EV performance on a Saskatoon night (where I went to university) at -35C. Used a lot of battery but the car performed great. And you know, I miss that adventure of waking up to -35C and heading to school and the sound of the snow crunching under your feet.

My fave tip for dev #swiftlang -> Linux, check how your Swift package compiles while on your mac w/ container: container run -it -c 4 -m 8g \ -v "$(pwd):/src" -w src/ \ swift:6.2 sh -c "swift build" (runs a Swift 6.2 image, gives it 4CPU and 8GB, mounts your PWD as "src", and builds)

I spent many years in the Eclipse community and was so privileged to be immersed in their passion for building great things and lasting friendships. The last few weeks attending Swift community meetups, I'm seeing that passion again. I feel so at home!

Swift - Java interop I think it’s pretty critical to embed Swift as a server side language. If you can begin a transition incrementally, it’s always easier to move over. Super cool to see this work, and congrats to Mads!

Bridging the Swift and Java worlds opens the door to a richer set of server-side use cases for Swift. In our latest GSoC spotlight, Mads Odgaard describes his work to expand access to Swift/Java interop. #Java #GSOC www.swift.org/blog/gsoc-20...

Excited by the progress the team is making. A modern build system for SwiftPM!

Swift Language@swift.org

🧱Lots of progress towards a unified, open source, cross-platform build system for Swift 🏗️ Here's the latest project update: forums.swift.org/t/swiftpm-on...

When busy at work late into the evening making SwiftPM the best it can be, great to throw up Star Wars A New Hope to remind me what brought me to this game. Can't wait to focus more on Swift Embedded in SwiftPM to get it onto robots like this 😀 🤖 .

loving the swift community rally around #swiftlang as the main hashtag for the language itself. it is so hard sifting through taylor swift and the financial network to engage with yall 😂 i think #swiftlang and platform would be cool to see too like #swiftlang #linux spread the word :)

This is Winston Churchill visiting Washington DC to request assistance in the war against Germany. Notice he is wearing a "zip suit" and not a traditional suit. This was to honor the British troops--the same reason Zelensky dresses the way he does.

Hard to explain what this sport means to this country. Except for times like this. This is pride no one can take away.

Incredibly moving Justin Trudeau remarks: "We have fought and died alongside you....During your darkest hours...we were always there. Embedded Swift being discussed right now by Eric Bariaux. We've also been using Embedded Swift recently, and it's nice to see others in this space working with this too.

Swift Everywhere includes Windows! And we are not kidding. ;)

Ben Cohen@airspeedswift.bsky.social

The #Swift team at Apple is hiring Windows engineers! We have a number of roles focused on improving the experience of using the Swift language and tools on Microsoft (and other) platforms. These roles would be based in our City of London office, with two days remote.

A shameless plug that @simonjbeaumont.com and I will be giving a live demo talk showing how to build a ChatGPT proxy server in Swift, from scratch, using Swift OpenAPI Generator, at FOSDEM 2025 🏎️ #swiftlang #openapi (I haven't been on a public stage since WWDC19 so might be a bit rusty 🫢)

My feeds are full of mourning for one of the great leaders of our time. May the current ones yearn to achieve as much in their life times. Though with this bunch, there is much work to be done...

Doubling the joy today! I'm thrilled that my local friend Danella Olsen joined me to dance together beside majestic, frozen Fish Lake in the Yukon wilderness at -20°C. When joy is multiplied through connection in nature's embrace, it creates a positive ripple effect. Happy Holidays! 🎄 Gurdeep.org
