The Gospel of Awni teaches that you can give someone $15,299 in Claude credits and they can vibe code recipe apps for a month, or give them a 512 GB M5 Ultra and they can maintain their own Linux distro for life.

Very happy to have the combined docs site public and building with a pipeline of PR to publication. if you’re interested in the details and where it’s going, swing by the Swift Forums: forums.swift.org/t/swifts-new...

At last: a unified home for Swift documentation, pulling together the language reference, core libraries and tooling, and platform specifics into a single central home, no matter what you're building! Check it out and give us feedback: docs.swift.org

Adopting strict concurrency across my codebases was painful in some places, but can’t argue with crash reports going down.

Kyle Hughes@kylehugh.es

My app at work is 100% Swift 6, from the ground up, and we have 0 crashes related to concurrency. A couple million lines of code. Our total crash rate is < 0.02%, and most are attributable to libraries like Intercom. Where we're going, we need all the compile-time validation we can get.

Looking for #ttrpg gaming groups in #Paris, #France. My son is attending uni there. He’s a big old nerd (no idea where he got that from 🤓) and not super outgoing. He has tried to find gaming groups/stores/etc. but no luck so far. So I figured I’d ask the for help here. Please RT. Thanks!

Happy July 4th, USA. May the promise of a better nation one day be realized for every one of us who live under its flag; also and independently, may we all finish the day with the same number of fingers as we started it.

So happy to see the details (github.com/apple/truety...) behind the #swift rewrite of the interpreter; performance doesn't just match, it exceeds — and gets Swift's safety features. Not that I need a interpreter myself, but seeing how the code goes together — what's been used — is really cool!

What makes interpreters a pain in the^W^W^W interesting challenge for safety and performance is they defeat lots of tricks compilers can pull to mitigate the cost safety e.g. if the program you're interpreting is what runs the loop indexing into the array, you can't statically hoist those checks.

A Reuters photographer captured this image of a page from Pam Bondi's "burn book," which she used to counter any questions from Democratic lawmakers during an unhinged hearing today. It looks like the DOJ monitored members of Congress’s searches of the unredacted Epstein files. Just wow.

No. Commonsense reform is to burn ICE to the waterline and scatter the rubble so that all of us who value a constitutional republic with a Bill of Rights can prevent such a monstrosity from ever being constructed again. And nothing above is hyperbole. God, but you are not a leader for this time.

Chuck Schumer@schumer.senate.gov

Democrats want commonsense reform for ICE: End the roving patrols and racial profiling. Take accountability and abide by the same rules as local police. Masks need to come off, body cameras need to stay on—no secret police in the United States of America.

AOC: I want everybody to understand that the cuts to your health care are what’s paying for this. You get screwed over to pay a bunch of thugs in the street that are shooting mothers in the face.

Friend looking for work - newish developer, good with C++, Python, Lua, and Javascript/HTML. He's getting started and looking for something to help pay the bills while in school. Any suggestions on where to help him look for work, either in #seattle or remote, contract gigs, or paid internships?

My fave tip for dev #swiftlang -> Linux, check how your Swift package compiles while on your mac w/ container: container run -it -c 4 -m 8g \ -v "$(pwd):/src" -w src/ \ swift:6.2 sh -c "swift build" (runs a Swift 6.2 image, gives it 4CPU and 8GB, mounts your PWD as "src", and builds)
