They took their hoods off. They are proud of their racism. They own all three branches of government and are openly instituting white supremacist policy & practice whenever possible. And so many are collaborating with them because even when they obfuscated, they were never against white supremacy.

I know there's a lot going on but I feel it should probably be more of an above-the-fold story that members of Congress released a thoroughly documented report directly accusing the president of the United States of being a serial rapist.

Adding to Chanda’s point here: this level of action and optimism can likely be attributed to the fact that Lula and the Workers’ Party are leftist and they believe that better things are possible.

Instead we should focus on which messages, ideas, and visions beyond "we need to beat the far right" have mobilized large parts of society. We should understand the organizational structures behind these victories and acknowledge that they are about more than defending the status quo.

Trans people are fighting to keep rights they had ten years ago—in 2016. It is not the same as fighting for rights in the first instance. So please I beg of you, knock it off with this “purity test” horseshit.

I’m not a political journalist, so was gladly surprised at the community I found here last night.
