God, grant me the serenity to bomb the patterns I cannot dodge, the courage to dodge the patterns I can, and the wisdom to tell the difference.

Final submission version of my Gundam Assemble Zaku II C "Enforcer". I'm happy with what I've got done, but there are more ideas I want to add later. #GundamAssemble #GundamAssembleShowcase #GundamAssemblePainting #GundamAssembleHobby

this article is really good with a lot of well researched interviews and perspectives and context as to what was going on in the studio. but sometimes. sometimes there's really only one sentence that speaks louder than all the others

Kotaku@kotaku.com

Back in May, Double Fine employees petitioned for a union. Two weeks later, that petition was withdrawn. What happened? https://kotaku.com/inside-the-failed-fight-to-unionize-one-of-gamings-most-idealized-studios-2000742755

Felt like the base needed something else. Masked off a section ( laying 3 lines of tape, then removing the middle). Sponged on Two Thin Coats "Skulker Yellow" and did the same "alternation" technique across the lane diagonally. Sponged on Two Thin Coats "Dark Reaper" and peeled for a nice finish.

Calling it there on the main mini. Added in just a few limited highlights on the top-facing edges and sharp edges.

And that's the Heat Hawk done! Did a phased set of stages in Two Thin Coats "Centurion Red", "Orange Flare", "Yellow Flare", Vallejo "Ice Yellow", and finally Two Thin Coats "White Star". Then I glazed the orange into the red and the yellow into the orange. Finally, edge & dots in "Dark Reaper".

It's really starting to come together. Finished the layering of Two Thin Coats "Contagion Green" and also did 2 steps on the underside of the shield and parts of the axe with Two Thin Coats "Ashen Grey" then "Rodent Grey".

Now for some high impact stuff! And what will likely be the longest stage. Layering over the green using Two Thin Coats "Contagion Green". Also did the eye in Pro Acryl "Bold Titanium White" then coated in AK Interactive "Intense Pink" with the center of the eye being a 50/50 mix of both.

Low impact but layered Two Thin Coats "Death Reaper" on all the black parts, leaving the pure black in the recesses.

Layered up the backpack with Two Thin Coats "War Master Green". Same method, leave the edges and recesses in the darker colour.

Layered Two Thin Coats "Orc Hide" on all the armour that needs to be the darker green. Deliberately avoided recesses so as to allow the previous colour + wash to keep the panel separations defined.

this response is so funny "we have to use ai because our developers are spread so thin it'd be impossible to do it all by hand" okay hear me out maybe instead just don't make 9 pc ports at once??? you could just make one so you're not spread so thin

Ireland’s Classic Hits radio station is boycotting Ed Sheeran’s music as well. Also worth noting once again our national TV broadcaster is not broadcasting Eurovision next year because of Israel. If you think the Irish acts and Ireland’s stance is too much then you don’t understand our history 🧵

And another drybrush stage, now Two Thin Coats "Sir Coates Silver". Starting to actually look like steel and the texture resultant from the layers is nice variation on the flat surfaces.

All over wash of AK Deep Shade " Black Night" all over the model. It's staining the green but that fine as I'll be layering over that anyway. The recess shade is what it's there for. Also dry brushed the base in Mr Hobby U.N.T.'s MS Grey Metallic, which is very dark as the shade tone for the base.

Primed up with "Death Rattle Green" spray from Colour Forge. The base was just a cheap black automotive primer from Poundland, since the plan is for metallic paints on that.

it's always "fun" to look into the details on these sorts of situations: * This guy cofounded this company out of school and has never had a boss in his entire life. * Notes that he's laid off 20% of the studio every year for the past 6 years * "We want to lean more and more into the gig economy"

Prepped for priming. Just connected to the wire using sticky tac for parts that have socket, super glue for non-socket cavities and drilling for where neither can apply. Drilled holes are done in sections that will not be visible when glued together.

You should read this. I've known the history of "zombies" for a while now. I've shared it. I'm not consistent. I pick my battles. And I've always felt this intense shame when I go along with a convo. It is this near total appropriation of Haitian culture. Leaving almost nothing behind.
