"Send us money to help build a border wall" and then instead buying yourself 18 more rumpled polo shirts to wear simultaneously, that's donor fraud. "Send us money to help research and track extremists" and then spending that money on obtaining information about extremists groups is... not fraud.
You gotta give to the GOP.
They trained their voters to hate “libs” so much they would gratefully accept every manner of corruption, lawlessness, cruelty, ineptitude, and criminality, and cheer it on, so long as it is their team doing it.
HOW DO YOU HAVE A MISUNDERSTANDING OVER A DIPLOMATIC AGREEMENT? HOW DO BOTH SIDES NOT AGREE TO TERMS WRITTEN ON THE SAME PIECE OF PAPER? I'M LOSING MY MIND.
JD Vance: "I think this comes from a legitimate misunderstanding. I think the Iranians thought the ceasefire included Lebanon, and it just didn't. We never made that promise, we never indicated that was gonna be the case."
So pro-life means jailing women who miscarry but shrugging when the deranged president says “a whole civilization will die tonight.” Do I have that right?
The president hasn't been seen in public in days, while his social media account is issuing insane unhinged threats.
Seems like we should get some confirmation that he's, you know, still alive and it's not Stephen Miller tapping out the rants
ICE agent asked why he's taking pictures of a legal observer's car, replies: "Cuz we have a nice little database and now you're considered a domestic terrorist. So have fun with that."
This guy went to work today, put a mask on, kidnapped a 5 year old child, and then used him as bait so both he and his father could be sent behind bars
Thirty-one known defendants have been charged in Chicago with non-immigration crimes tied to “Operation Midway Blitz.”
With today’s acquittal, 15 of them have been cleared.
No one has been convicted.
#BREAKING: Federal jury finds Chicago man NOT GUILTY of offering $10K for the murder of U.S. Border Patrol Cmdr. Gregory Bovino.
The trial of Juan Espinoza Martinez was the first to result from “Operation Midway Blitz”: chicago.suntimes.com/live/closing...
There is one word in the English language that explains what Minneapolis is experiencing right now: tyranny.
We are under assault by a tyrannical government and its little jackbooted commandant. We are going to keep fighting, and we will win, stand with us.
It’s perverse beyond description: my own government trying as hard as it can not to protect my city, but to enraged, attack, and destroy it, I campaign of pure malevolent aggression, conducted by US government paramilitaries against its own citizenry.
Looks like ICE is now cracking down on … Native Americans.
This letter was just posted by the chairman of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe in North/South Dakota:
“Our Nation is a sovereign government and our members are not immigrants. We are not subject to immigration enforcement on our own lands.”
“When I speak about making our city more affordable, my vision is not limited to the homes that we live in or the child care that we’re making universal — it’s also a vision where we make it possible for working people to afford lives of joy, of art, of rest, of expression.”
Yes, JD. Let’s ask them if they think a stay at home mom, avowed Christian, and widow of a veteran deserved to be shot in the face and left to bleed out in her own car after dropping her 6-year-old off at school, for the crime of looking out for her neighbors. Let’s ask everyone running for office.
“Donald Trump’s only governing philosophy is to accumulate power.”
And All the MAGA influencers are a suddenly a synched-up chorus about American power. America as a superpower that can do whatever it wants, and you better believe that applies domestically as well.
Those who ignore the rampant conspiracy theories about Venezuela and the 2020 election are missing a key part of the story. www.democracydocket.com/opinion/trum...
kind of darkly funny that "gender studies" is the stereotypical "useless degree" because gender studies will help you understand a large and important chunk of the current psychosis in american life
Solaris Energy: Nearly the entirety of this company's value is derived from their Gas Turbine lease contract with xAI. Anyways the stock is soaring this morning on unlimited demand for more CSAM harassment images
Nothing about this is okay.
The President of the United States is on Fox News right now gabbing about the U.S. attack on Venezuela before addressing the American people.
So the new order of information is: Truth Social → Fox News → the public → Congress, maybe?
Mike Lee, who fancies himself an intellectual, advances the premise that US agents can walk into the Venezuelan president’s rooms in Caracas at any time and exercise a plenary police power, and if anyone in that sovereign state might get in their way the military can just start blowing shit up.
"More than a dozen Heritage Foundation staffers departed the [MAGA septic] tank and are set to join Advancing American Freedom, a conservative advocacy group founded by former Vice President Mike Pence." www.wsj.com/politics/ele...
Hey! Remember when Barr (Bondi) withheld the Mueller (Epstein) documents for weeks so he (she) could mischaracterize what was in the Mueller (Epstein) Report and spin the findings for three weeks and then over-redact them? I sure do!
FOX: If you cut something by 100%, the cost goes down to 0. If you cut it by 600%, the drug companies are actually paying you
LUTNICK: What he's saying is if a drug was $100 and you bring it down to $13, it's down 7 times
F: Not a 600% cut
L: But it's 700% higher price before. It's down 700% now
The White House claims the vote to rename the Kennedy Center was “unanimous.” That is false. I was muted on the call and denied the opportunity to speak or register my opposition. That is not consensus. That is censorship.
"Overall, this data does not really support Savage’s material thesis. Ambitious white men in their thirties have not seen much, if any, decline over this period. Their overall employment is up. Their employment in the arts and media is unchanged. Educational attainment is up."
I can't believe efforts by a right wing contrarian engagement troll to create a fake university that coddles right wing ideology isn't going well
I'm sure her efforts to turn CBS into a right wing propaganda mill will go great though
Keep your chin up, champ
CBS News staffers might want to check into how things are going at their boss’s anti-woke “university” in Austin.

lot of awful and insane stuff going on. but if you really want to have a brain bleed this holiday season don't lose sight of Stephen Miller's wife doing a video podcast with the FBI director and his gf about their love life
Bari here just laundering the truth for us after Erika lectures the camera.
Erika Kirk talks about political violence in U.S. and calls on parents to do more: "Step up" share.google/hWvdkU92Hsai...
Veteran detained by ICE: I identified myself as a US citizen and a veteran, but that didn't matter. Agents smashed my window, sprayed tear gas into my car, dragged me out. Even after I complied, I was held for 3 days without charges. No phone call, no lawyer, no medical care
The Supreme Court has made it increasingly difficult to successfully prosecute public corruption, making it easier for people like White House “border czar” Tom Homan, who accepted $50,000 cash in a bag, to get away with alleged bribes.

Reminder: personally attacking a journalist for criticizing the government is not normal agency conduct.
It's a pretty clear attempt to intimidate the journalist, and from those that complained about government censorship, like
Secretary Kennedy did, the hypocrisy is jarring.
"Political violence" is a term that exists to suggest a moral distinction between "violence against politicians" and "violence by politicians" - so that one can be condemned while the other can be normalized. Obviously, no such distinction exists in reality: violence is violence.
One thing that feels different right now is the difference between structural power and rhetorical power.
Usually in the aftermath of major political events (including, especially, shootings), we see contestation over framing — how each party coalition tries to make sense of the event.
(…)
It’s fine to say that violence is never the answer, but I can’t help but observe that for Charlie Kirk violence was always the answer, and it was the only answer he offered, and, because of the privilege that he refused to admit he had, he could enact it from a comfortable and respectable place.
We must stand resolutely against political assassination and political violence of all kinds, and just as resolutely against everyone who exploits acts of violence as the pretext or excuse for political repression of political opponents.
For everyone saying political violence has no place in this country…
Remember two Democratic legislators were shot in Minnesota just this year.
And America shrugged and moved on.
I think that when a leader tries to foist an immoral, often illegal, and demonstrably unpopular set of civil right infringements on a populace—and does so in a way that is both hasty and provocative—a violent backlash is INEVITABLE.
Tragic, yes. Surprising? Not at all.
