He's a cheap bastard who botched a ticket promotion to set the goodwill on fire from the first WS appearance in over 40 years. Rays in 4. Make it happen! (It won't. But more Bob Uecker fan fiction is not ideal.)

The 2024 Dodgers say hello. It took a fifth inning flop of the ages to prevent being the team that allowed Game 6.

In the World Series specifically, no team has ever made it as far as Game 6 after being in a 3-0 hole

"Whoa. That person has really got him- or herself into quite a predicament." Craig Robinson threw a first pitch before World Series Game 3!

Without taking anything away from the MIL pitching, which has been fantastic, three of the top six hitters in the TB lineup tonight are Ryan Vilade, Ben Williamson, and Johnny DeLuca.

My pal Danielle Koenig shared that her father Walter Koenig passed away last night at age 90. A performer whose kindness and warmth shone through the screen. He will be well remembered.

My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

RIP. Eric Bauza brought us such joy by breathing new life into classic Looney Toons characters. Loved his Porky Pig and Daffy Duck in The Day the Earth Blew Up as well as his work on Coyote vs. Acme. A crushing loss.

This World Series matchup between the Brewers and Rays has been trumpeted as a showcase of fundamental baseball, with lots of balls in play, bunts, and stolen bases. However, as Matthew Roberson writes, the defense we've seen so far in the World Series has been quite poor:

I've been saying all year the World Series would end in 5. I was hoping it'd be Seattle. Instead the scene shifts back to St. Petersburg. Somehow this is all Blake Snell's fault. I don't know how, but that's the theory I'm going with. /s

Like my old man, I'm a sucker for an auction and I'm prone to playing spoiler for items. Sometimes I wish the labeling was better. When Chris Taylor's authenticated nameplate from Games 1-2 of the 24 WS, the box was huge. I was so confused until I opened it. I need to find a 12x48 frame. 🙈

Okay. Marginally better. Not quite sure it took two bites at the apple for a reasonable "Thank you fans" graphic. I have fewer questions. The second bit of text can just be the caption, I'm not quite sure why it needed to be in the graphic.

I'm not sad it's over but content it happened in the first place. I am blessed to be fortunate enough to see so much of it firsthand. And I hope you enjoyed tagging along... That said, the graphic below is a choice. I have so many questions right now and graphic design is NOT my passion.

Speaking of which, as an aside, do you know how badly you have to screw up to appear on my radar when I'm doing my best to enjoy an unprompted holiday? The Milwaukee Brewers decided to go full Michael Scott this past week, ignoring one of the cardinal rules of life: don't go full Michael Scott.

To quote the kids: Your boy was there. I regret being kind of grumpy because I was being jerked around by Brewers Customer Service, which is a theme this week. 😂

The fact that the president's doctors are giving him the dementia test over and over again -- tracking his decline, most likely -- and that the president keeps bragging about having to take that test should be a five-alarm fire.
