I dont know if it's because they love republicans and want them to win but holy crap is this an embarrassment. the equivalent of reckless disregard in terms of journalism fuck ups. Just the simplest damn googling.

❗❗❗Mark Zuckerberg's meta just suspended the No Kings Instagram account. I just rushed back from my local No Kings to jump on this. Bottom line, would be helpful for all pro-No Kings folks to elevate the issue and help us get the word out about No Kings today. The Nerd Reich strikes again.

Ossoff: "At last week's debate, he couldn't even bring himself to say he's stop the production of neo-Nazi propaganda from his own house. Did you see that? I told Mike we could shake on it. All he had to stop neo-Nazi propaganda from his house for 3 weeks. He refused! ... a crumbling little bigot"

Kind of a buried lede in the results of this Supreme Court approval rating poll from Marquette: Overall support for Supreme Court expansion, which even Democratic politicians were dismissing as "radical" just a few years ago, is now at 53 percent today.marquette.edu/2026/09/marq...

🔥 @jumaane.bsky.social : “They’re going to try to make the gentleman they shot the worst human you’ve ever heard of… a father picking up his child was shot by a rogue agency controlled by Trump. That’s what occurred. He represents evil. He is doing the Devil’s work.” #AbolishICE

The consequences of Trump's rampage against democracy and decency are so obvious that ordinary Americans might even notice despite the Prestige Press' malfeasance. It'd be nice if more Democrats pointed it out instead of hammering "affordability."

Mark Jacob@markjacob.bsky.social

The light tone of this piece reflects the NY Times’ attitude that Trump is just a goof and all this madness is temporary. It’s mind-blowing that a major newspaper is trivializing a fascist movement that has committed mass murder and stated openly last night that it will cheat in the midterms.

Any sweeping systemic change you want to make in the United States has to begin with adding seats to the Supreme Court in 2029. No major reform bill will survive the current court. No civil rights law, no anti-corruption law, no wealth tax, nothing.

Please don't overreact to Roberts Court decision on the contemplated USPS ballot moves They simply held that the injunction came too early in the process, before there was a final rule👇 Now we HAVE a final rule & we will litigate it. I'm as confident in our arguments here as in any of our cases!

For all the GOPs who actually think Dems are saying Harp & Trump are fucking, they're not. We can clear that up. They're saying she's his emotional support blanket. He's a praise & sycophancy junkie on his last legs. And he needs the heroin of fangirls 24/7. And that's Natalie.

It is such a pivotal moment. Plenty of times where people say oh you cld be brave, you cld take a stand. But take a stand and get wiped out, corker, flake, cheney. But that was that critical 2 or 3 weeks where Trump was alone and on the ropes. Conviction ends him. It was very doable.

This is exactly true. Democrats - and all Americans - have to face the fact that the Supreme Court has hardly ever been an agent of positive change. And now, especially, it is an agent of negative change. Expand the Supreme Court and limit its members' terms and authority.

A Democratic majority in Congress and the White House won’t be enough to bring progressive change, @briantylercohen.bsky.social says. “There is no world in which this Supreme Court … is not going to upend any progressive legislation the second they get their hands on it.” https://bit.ly/4qskS3m

NEW: My office reached a $45 million settlement with Block, Inc., the company behind Cash App, for misleading consumers about security. Companies have an obligation to protect users. Instead, Cash App enabled fraud. This win puts an end to their deceptive practices and delivers accountability.

here is what i think: we're not consumers or spectators, we are participants with agency. you should not hope that democrats will do anything. you must work to force them to do the right thing. the odds are long, but we are far from the first americans to face long odds. we will win.

jamelle@jamellebouie.net

you know, when someone says something like "these are the things that need to be done to avert disaster" and your response is "you think democrats will do that?!?" all you're telling me is that you think politics is a spectator sport

Notably, FOUR justices would have rewritten the Constitution by fiat. Kavanaugh only concurred because he thinks the law Congress passed in the 1950s granting birthright citizenship governs the case, but he thinks Congress could eliminate birthright citizenship along Trump's lines if they wanted.

Re-upping to ask: Conley & supporters say again and again that she is the only candidate who can beat Lawler. Neither she, nor they, point to any reasons why. Specifically, *why*? Not a rhetorical question. Given Davidson's experience, community ties & accomplishments, it's sure not obvious.

Weird doings in #NY17 with these GOP fake-progressive attack ads on Cait Conley in the (D) primary to oppose #MAGAMike Lawler (1/5)

Weird thing 2: GOP money or not, the Palantir rap on Conley is legit. She says she doesn’t do work for ICE (true, not directly) but has nothing to say about making 100s of thousands from a sub of one of the most evil corps out there, which DOES work for ICE, among other horrible things (4/5)

Weird thing 3: Given national trends I think MAGA Mike will be swamped whoever he faces, so “my candidate is the ONLY one who can beat Lawler” on *anyone’s* behalf is overblown to put it charitably. But especially so for Conley given the above (5/5)

Weird thing 1: It’s unclear why the GOP is most concerned about Conley, who hasn’t lived in the district in decades, has never run for office, and has shown no particular command of the issues, to put it mildly (2/5)

Beth Davidson, by contrast, has a grassroots base in Lawler’s Rockland backyard (school board, county leg) going back years, debates well, has an accomplished record, and is Jewish, in one of the most Jewish districts in the US (3/5)

It’s really important that Democrats have people like Talarico (and Warnock and others) providing this kind of theologically and spiritually rigorous counter to Christian nationalism. Consigning evangelicals to the far right is a terrible mistake. Every person Talarico reaches is a badly needed win

Greg Sargent@gregsargent.bsky.social

Talarico is willing to theologically go toe-to-toe with white Christian Nationalism. And, importantly, he treats it as fundamental to this moment that Trump and Trumpism are wrecking our common life at a very profound moral and spiritual level. 5/ newrepublic.com/article/2109...
