This Regenerate Cascadia project featured in Ma Earth's Round 3 funding is the @cofoodyvr.bsky.social garden in Vancouver! A wild and wonderful intersection of 10 years of my life and my brand new career in bioregionalism 🥰🥳

Ma Earth@maearth.com

🌱 The Turtle Island Bioregional Congress cultivates relationships and solidarity that strengthen resilience and regeneration across North America. 🌱 Regenerate Cascadia is weaving landscape groups and creating a Bioregional Fund to serve decentralized regeneration efforts across their bioregion.

This episode is a beautiful on-ramp to the vision behind the @maearth.com funding model. I have big hopes for this work unleashing new capital rivers formed by the collective, to the collective.

The Great Simplification@tgspodcast.bsky.social

In this episode, Nate is joined by Matthew Monahan, co-founder of the nonprofit @maearth.com, to explore the emerging field of regenerative finance.

I'm crowdfunding! It's within the @maearth.com Round 3 quadratic matching fund, where every donor unlocks a multiplier effect. This project supports the legacy and transition of the #cofoodyvr urban garden project in Vancouver near and dear to my heart. Give here! maearth.com/deptofbioreg...

The Trump administration must obey the law. Federal judges have been clear: release the contingency funds NOW. Do not allow 42 million Americans to go hungry while billionaires get tax breaks.

Eeee getting excited for #dwebcampcascadia!! One thing I'm looking forward to is setting up a hyperlocal #meshtastic network. Join us? This first year is a wicked deal!

Guess what folks? DWeb Camp Cascadia is on, and tickets are live! Aug 8-10, we'll be camping out on Salt Spring Island in the first-ever regional DWeb Camp for the Pacific Northwest. Learn more and get your tickets here: dwebyvr.org/camp/ #dwebcampcascadia @getdweb.net

Wowww it has been so fun pre-camping with some of the team this weekend! This announcement post for #dwebcampcascadia was made in front of an epic view of Saanich Inlet with Salt Spring on the horizon. Blessed to be working with these people, in this place 💞

👀 eerily understandable dyst/utopian short fiction on bluesky? Yes please 👏

Archangel Nero@nerothearchangel.bsky.social

THE PROXIMA DECEPTION A Short Story "It is not by catastrophe that civilizations most often fall, but by the gentle erosion of their capacity to remember." Full story thread 👇

I am most definitely pro research on stingrays performing arithmetic. For the record. Also, bumblebees using tools. #philsci strikes a chord again. I love bluesky.

Soazig Le Bihan@soaziglebihan.bsky.social

This new article makes an interesting point:"My goal is to argue that there is a place for both ecological relevance and irrelevance in the study of animal cognition." #philsky #philsci #animalcognition #conservation www.cell.com/trends/cogni...

Really enjoying this article, glad you wrote it @dasniel.com. I'm particularly taking away The Lost Cause principle as a tool for comprehending and adjusting to the emergent nature of reality. Already translating this to broad swaths of life!

I learned this word in a #Grokkist cafe titled "Solarpunk and speculative fiction". I like what a friend said just now - "How do we start telling stories we're excited to be a part of? And, envision futures we're excited to be around for?"

So good to get DWeb folk out and getting our hands dirty together. Collaboratively managing a shared urban food and flower garden aligns with several of the @getdweb.net principles. A thought provoking potluck to close the day seals it.

My spare copies of #hospicingmodernity have arrived! I'm starting a reading group to work through it together. This book is an invitation to different ways of thinking, feeling, and ultimately being, in the face of the decline of how-things-have-been.

Wow, Hackenschmidt's take on the tyranny of memory and virtue of forgetfulness SO aligns and expands on with my own XP and theories of life derived from Vipassana meditation, Buddhist philosophied writ large, psychedelics, etc. Recommended read! Thank you @sarahrobins.bsky.social for reposting it

A magnificent upgrade to the fungal canopy on this nurse log at the #cofoodyvr garden Anyone up to ID it? 🤔 my PictureThis app doesn't do fungi #fungifriends #gardenersofthegalaxy

'Tis the season for budwatching in Vancouver! Our garden has been waking up since early Feb, but it's just this week that the green dots along our bush and tree stalks and branches are really standing out #cofoodyvr

In celebration of Bluesky increasing the allowed size of videos, here is what an effusive volcanic eruption looks and sounds like from just ~300 meters away, close enough to feel the intense heat of the Earth creating itself. Sound on! 🔊

This is such a cool event, I'm sad to miss it! Who doesn't want to self-host their AI?! For only $15 and a half day of informed hacking, this is a wicked learning opp. Are you in Vancouver? Please go, and tell me what you glean 🤗🫠

DWebYVR@dwebyvr.org

The next Hack Day is March 29th at @z-space.ca The topic is #localfirst AI: what new types of applications can we create with AI agents that run securely and privately on our own devices and data? Thanks @daffl.me for hosting! lu.ma/m24ep4z2

Cool! A private company threw a machine at the moon, and it didn't totally crash. That's a first. Bluesky's astronomy feed is fun.

Blue Ghost is on the Moon! Images are coming in now from what appears to be the first fully successful commercial lunar lander. Over the next 2 weeks, it will drill, study lunar dust, and observe an eclipse of the Sun...by the Earth. 🧪🔭 fireflyspace.com/news/firefly...

From Rainbow Brainskull: Now, we are entering an era where realistic photos can be generated instantly. So the era of photographs being accepted as reality was a short ~100 years. How wild is it that we were around to catch the short special era where a photograph meant something was REAL.
