#bbcqt #NHS We are becoming unhealthier, maybe by being worked into the ground BUT we are spending more - is that because more services the NHS used to do is now contracted out to parasitic providers (sometimes US based) - lining shareholders pockets NOT services - like water, fuel, mail, rail etc

This article fails to mention: 1. Private companies cherry-pick patients. I spoke to one lady with cataracts in both eyes. A private company swiftly fixed the simple one, and left the complicated cataract to the NHS🚨 2. Private companies poach NHS staff to do the work🚨 …

Ministers are refusing to publish vital briefings which contain significant material related to Palantir’s NHS software. As the deadline looms to renew the spy-tech firm’s £330m contract, they’re keeping us in the dark. We can't let them 👇 https://goodlaw.social/t8tf

#BBCQT Annabel Denham may work at the telegraph now but why do they neglect to say she worked as director of coms at the right wing free market think tank the IEA which might explain expressions like 'breaking in to the UK'. Also ECHR has only been used 13 x to stop deportations since 1980

#bbcqt when we talk about the welfare Bill recently and people being out of work, why does no one mention #longcovid it hasn't gone away, each infection could lead to long term complications and the long term effects won't be known for a while but could be a factor in people being out of work

I've just found out my blood, taken at my GP surgery, is processed by Boa Vida health which is parented in the US. Maybe there is less to spend on patients cos we are now out sourcing services the #NHS once did to private US healthcare @andyburnham.bsky.social kick private equity out the #NHS 🙏

Hip replacement - what is the NHS cost vs referral to private provider? Profit and greed are not compatible with altruism. Of the NHS budget how much is used up by supplier profit requirements & shareholder dividends before the service is provided? That cost could have been used for NHS services

Let's take this bit at a time. The editor of The Spectator, defender of the working class, and protector against immigrants is privately educated former Tory minister Baron Gove of Torry, formerly in relationships with an American, another American, and then a woman raised in Rome. 1/

Despite all the noise today I'd really like you to read this, as I think it's crucial. The government's in the process of p*ssing up to £264 billion into the ground, at the behest of the fossil fuel industry. Yes, £264 *billion*. It's utterly mad, and has to stop. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Interesting - it is almost like Gove's educational reforms and having to get in massive debt to go to Uni where critical thinking is encouraged (not a problem for the wealthy) had a purpose! Well practiced in the US too. natcen.ac.uk/news/educati... #education #rightwing #byelection

Private equity controls large parts of UK economy & public services. It is opaque, lacks transparency and accountability. PE conceals ownership, uses complex structures, financial engineering: shifts profits offshore, engages in tax abuse Little information Company law is not fit-for-purpose.

6) nationalise power and our national transmission systems (like they used to be) to reduce costs, if we don't have to subsidies the CEOs & shareholders it would save us a fortune. 7) reinforce altruistic capitalism, ban parasitic capitalism

With Russia by 2030, if we do have to use it we may need it then to support our country not foreign powers 4) Trump says we should do it! He wanted to send our navy to Iran when Russian subs were over our cables & he thought Brexit was great, he is not our friend, what is the motive for drilling?

Ten years on, Brexit has failed. It has made Britain poorer, weaker and less secure. The Conservatives and Farage broke our relationship with Europe. Labour are too timid to fix it. The Liberal Democrats are being honest about the way forward: rebuild trust, grow our economy and keep Britain safe.

@andyburnham.bsky.social you probably have your own ideas but what @russincheshire.bsky.social suggests here is brilliant and would make our politics and our society work for all not the few, it would be fairer and would reintroduce standards & reduce public service being used to line pockets 🙏

If anybody cares (you shouldn't): what I'd do to revitalise Britain: 1. Randomly selected people's assemblies of 299 people (like a jury) to decide media regulation/complaints. They hear expert witnesses, and then decide. Depoliticise it, and abolish Ofcom (too open to abuse and political pressure)
