Started The Cage of Dark Hours yesterday, this is book 2 to The Helm of Midnight. Already loving it and very curious still about the world and how it works. We have a new character pov that is of a child and my stress levels are already spiked 👀.

This angers me. A whole toddler that should be celebrated for being GREAT at something. Gets police called instead... If that ain't being Black in America.

I spoke to the mom of the 3-year-old soccer star who was left "thinking he did something wrong" after a league official called police "due to a disturbance between parents" The youth sports league said they launched a review and reached out to the family

Youtube keeps pushing videos of people reading Sarah Fuck Ass Mass books. There's a banner for these videos and everything. I'm guessing cause she got some stank ass book coming out? 🙄 So damn annoying. Here's your reminder she used Breonna Taylor's MURDER to promote her book release.

I finished King of Ashes by S.A. Cosby this morning. Wowwww that was good. I haven't read a lot of thriller/crime novels this year and this one was so well done. Also my first from Cosby! Can't wait to read more.

Oh and also their momma went missing when they were young! Lots of heartache and lots of lies all around everybody involved. I liked the exploration of the sibling relationships. Many fights or convos just felt so real. Can't believe it's taken me this long to pick up one of Cosby's books haha.

"The good news is that the book is not out of print." Forgot the "yet." This is now triggers the "Out of Print" clause by making it 1 of 2 periods. The fact my publisher wanted me to reverse the rights back to me before this statement because they knew I was RIGHT. #blacksky #booksky

The very first Black poet to published in American history was Jupiter Hammon in 1761. Born enslaved and spending his entire life in bondage, it's amazing we have a birth date for him. October 17, 1711....315 years ago today.

🔔 NEW VIDEO! Today, I'm finally sharing my reviews for the 11 books I read in September! With the changing of the seasons, my reading took a bit of a darker turn—dark academia, horror, harrowing stories of loss—but it led me to some amazing books all the same 📚🖤 #BookTube 📷 youtu.be/-kdU5ml9nK8

Almost finished with The Space Between Worlds by Micaiah Johnson. I liked it a lot in the beginning and towards the end idk I feel like I'm loosing some steam. Not like steamy scenes haha but im just liking the story a little less. I think it comes down to the writing style.

Emmarae 💚🧿

The writing is good however it's just moments where we are repeating the same sentiment that is annoying to me personally. Ex. Things like 'i can't forget where I've come from' being repeated throughout the story. Like girl yes we know where you came from you told us earlier extensively.

Y‘all know that book banning negatively impacts sales, right? Especially when the authors are mid-list and marginalized. As a Lipan Apache, I’m familiar with erasure, and this is erasure. What’s more, readers who need our stories can’t access them.
