So, I decided to apply the Honeywell PTM7950 to the GMKTec K6 mini-PC and now it stays at 70°C, instead of hitting 80°C. Benchmarked it using 86Box with Unreal Tournament's menu because it usually cooks the CPU for some reason.

Ecstatica is out on Steam in an enhanced version featuring, among others, high resolution. Best ellipsoid fever dream simulator out there. #retrogaming #dosgaming

Upgrades done to the Gameboy Colour and the BC-250 this weekend. Soldered a bigger capacitor to clear the noise from the speaker by the OLED mod and gave the BC-250 a Honeywell and new NVRAM thermal pad. I could finally overclock the CPU to 4GHz with all 8 cores enabled and the GPU to 2GHz 😁

Update on the Gameboy Color: the shell from Hispideedo is pretty much terrible. The D-Pad sinks in and it's hard to do diagonals. So I got myself a purple one from Funnyplaying and it's so good! 😁

AI coding for banks is not likely to have any unforeseen consequences, is it? /s

Financial Times@financialtimes.com

Barclays plans to axe 5,000 jobs this year, with developers bearing the brunt of the cuts as the UK bank adopts AI across its operations. The cuts equate to about 5% of Barclays’ workforce, the bank said on Thursday, and are part of a broader cost-cutting drive ft.trib.al/Mq6svvv

Props to the ad agency: they nailed the "white person who plagiarises and steals credit using LLMs" look with 100% accuracy

Do yourselves a favour and get some retro handhelds, if you really need to buy something new. Future gaming isn't sustainable.

We just released the demo for our game "Demi and the Fractured Dream" for the Steam Next Fest. Try out the demo and wishlist! 🥰 #indiegames #indiedev #gamedev #demiandthefractureddream #steamnextfest

The issue was the F2 fuse having been blown. I replaced it, using a hot air station, and fixed the DC jack not switching to batteries when unplugged by bodging the 2 and 3 pins. All working perfectly now!

I always felt Tear from Smashing Pumpkins would've been perfect for a Silent Hill. I then read that they wrote the song for Lost Highway, which inspired Silent Hill 2 and my feeling made sense.

Richard B. Gray - LEVELORD 11/15/1957 - 10/12/2026 Just heard the news that an old friend of mine has passed on. Richard Gray - aka Levelord has departed the planet. I know he's dealt with cancer on and off for awhile now, a word that I cannot stand. Word comes from his wife Olga.

Cold Eyes from Peter Cawdron. A very enjoyable hard sci-fi book. More than half-way through it and it goes into unexpected territory.

Finally managed to install Boot Camp 3.1 and got the Nvidia drivers working with the GTX 750 Ti. So I have under the desk a Win XP and a Win 7 rig now.

I could install OpenBoot Core but couldn't be bothered, so I put Windows 7 64-Bit on the Mac Pro via SSD swapping during install.
