Had a great time yesterday being filmed for community TV show 5 or 8, who interviewed me about my writing. It’ll be on Channel 31, YouTube, and elsewhere - eventually! This is what I looked like beforehand.

This week marks one year since Pick Your Potion was released. In that time it’s been an Aurealis Awards finalist, longlisted for the British Science Fiction Association Awards, and on the Locus Recommended Reading List. Thank you so much to everyone who has supported it. That means so much to me. 💖

Happy pride month!! I made a starter pack of amazing queer/LGBTQIA+ speculative fiction authors and I think the best way to kick off the month is to share it around so they can get some recognition for their hard work! Whether you are queer or an ally, support these wonderfully diverse creators!

Had a wonderful birthday weekend. 🧁 Got some litRPG books as presents. 📚 My wife wrote me a song (I cried). 🎵 Great Australian election results. 🌭 Attended the Aurealis Awards as a finalist again. 🏆 Felt very satisfied and loved. 💕 Thank you, everyone. 💖

You can still get where you want to go if you are slow at writing, or inconsistent about writing, or have long periods of time when you're not able to write, even very small and very intermittent progress over a long period of time will still add up if you keep at it and don't give up on yourself

if u see this, quote-post with your tips for writers that no one gives anymore because they seem obvious (even though they're not)

Thanks to Ephiny for the recommendation! I also loved the descriptions/selling points of all the stories in this video, and now my to-read list is a bit longer:)

I had to look this up again this morning to make sure I didn't imagine it last night... My short fiction collection, Pick Your Potion, is on Locus Magazine's 2024 Recommended Reading List! 🎊 In some excellent company, too. Thank you so much! 🥲💖 locusmag.com/2025/02/2024...

My wife’s new book The Spirit Circle is in the January issue of Australian Vogue. 🥲 I am so proud of her. I hope she continues to get all the recognition she deserves. ❤️

Guess who has an asthma diagnosis?! It would’ve been nicer to have this 20 years ago, but definitely better late than never. Looking forward to breathing better soon. 🎉
