it's honestly kind of amazing how Trump holds events like this one at the White House daily and almost every time nobody really knows what the point of them is. Why is this happening? Is there any purpose beyond the optics of looking busy?

THEY ARE NOT POWERLESS TO STOP HIM! Go back to Washington, stand on the steps of the Capitol and demand Johnson and Thune recall the House and Senate, and impeach him. THIS IS HOW IT IS SUPPOSED TO WORK! THERE IS LITERALLY AN INSTRUCTION MANUAL! (It's called the Constitution.)
Republican lawmakers are incensed about Trump's dismissal of Ukraine — and powerless to stop him. That frustration hit a new peak on Monday as they sought to address Trump’s decision to purchase Russian diesel, waive sanctions on Moscow, and potentially stop sharing intelligence with Ukraine.

Pretty clear to me there’s a very good case against this man for mass murder, and I’m saying that in as measured a fashion as I can. He’s order the killing of 234 people under no plausible war or legal justification. I am skeptical he will ever face legal accountability for til his but he should.

Do we seriously have to do Maoist newspeak every single time an 80 year old posts his idiotic ideas on the internet. It has been AI since before I was even born. Can literally anyone have a shred of dignity.

The Greenland “deal” epitomizes Trump. A huge amount of drama, a huge amount of damage that won’t be fixed for years and maybe never. And in the end he gets literally nothing but the diplo equivalent of Danish FIFA peace prize. 🏆 Stood down by Greenland and Denmark. Both hilarious and pathetic. Sad!

Something weirdly not noted in a lot of the coverage of the extortionate threats to murder the Kennedy Center unless it’s reimagined as a shrine to Trump: There was no dire fiscal crisis until Trump’s goombahs started mucking with it. Its finances were fine. projects.propublica.org/nonprofits/o...

📌BREAKING: The contractor just owned up to damaging the Reflecting Pool. All the noise. All the harm. All the upset. Millions of taxpayer money spent on this insidious propaganda. Lives ruined. And people support this maniac and his sickening regime. What a nightmare we are living through right now.

The fixation on whether we'll singularity before alignment and the robots will kill us is missing the trees for the forest. AI companies have already disseminated socially destabilizing technology, and we (Americans) handed the power to regulate them to Donald Trump. Happy Friday!

The @washingtonpost.com at least hints at how bizarre this is: “torrent of online memes, taunts”. The @nytimes.com fails again, sanewashing it into some sort of actual policy proposal: “Trump floats renaming New Mexico” Neither of them is willing to print the truth: the president is crazy

Trump officials will present plans to permanently fence Lafayette Square, the public park across the street from the White House. It has been a longtime Secret Service priority, but some preservationists and civic leaders are concerned.
