Folks, this is one of our most important requests. Can you do what you can to give it traction in your various socials. Naomi Cunningham is trying to normalise abusing court process to intimidate trans witnesses, creating a chilling effect that will deny us any access to justice at all, either as..
If we could obtain some/all of the original complaints and outcome decisions, we could take a strong case to judicial review. If any of you out there made complaints against this monster to the Bar Standards Board and got one of the 'No Further Action' replies, DM us. discretion guaranteed (more)

None of these anti-trans initiatives and referendums are about granting rights— all of them, every one— is about taking them away. Imagine feeling like the whole country is trying to decide if you count as fully human, and mustering up the courage to go to school. I promise you are not that brave.
new more realistic sequel: RPG which is a queer wonderland but surrounded by a border controlled by fascists trying to keep people out, not in
You know it suddenly occurs to me the irony is I feel like a lot of people would WANT to go through the portal and live in Exile rather than the Empire Like...

There's no pretense left. J. K. Rowling made her hate for trans women clear in a slur-filled screed slurring them a dozen times and describing them as deceitful and dangerous. So writes @evanurquhart.bsky.social this morning on Assigned Media. *WARNING: Article quotes Rowling's hateful language.*
Question. There are state compacts for interstate recognition of medical and therapy licenses, right? Can people who get involved with this be barred from ever practicing in another state? Including non conversion practices in case the culture shifts and they ever want to whitewash their careers.
This is all true but I feel it gives Cass an undeserved pass as simply clueless rather than malicious. The review was a hit job to justify suppressing trans youth. See the inconsistent application of evidence standards, pathologization and pervasive cissupremacism. Also:
Imagine if a podiatrist randomly got involved in oncology because someone in the government hired them to do an independent review. Then, a few years later, they were able to disrupt and shut down healthcare for cancer patients despite having no expertise That's Cass in the UK with trans healthcare

I feel like massive amounts of transphobia dialectics basically amount to denial that trans people actually exist, but even those people can't refute that intersex people exist. Yet many of the same injustices visited upon trans people are necessarily implied by being intersex.
Today is Intersex Awareness Day. I am intersex – and did not find out until I was 26! Intersex people are also impacted by the decision in FWS, but this is much less talked about. Intersex people continue to be subjected to non-consensual medical interventions. Intersex rights are human rights.

"Most of our tech investments are thinly-veilled and highly relished fantasies about making several million truck drivers unemployed overnight so the fueling of our yachts no longer relies on proles who have the nerve to want to be paid not getting uppity"
"The best form is welfare is a job, also our economic theory requires a few hundred thousand of you to not have a job at any one time and you must be punished for that."
Hold the line. Don't reward transphobic candidates even if it means Dems sit a seat out for 2 years. They must be taught to hold the line.
Matt Yglesias should at least *acknowledge* the opposing view: You’re more likely to secure trans rights in the long run if compromise on that issue is considered untenable in the Democratic Party chip. The outcome of one race is less important than that long term stake in the party.

correct. you aren't supposed to hold your nose and Respectfully "vote blue no matter who" you're supposed to make your political candidates terrified and desperate that they may lose your vote Even If you're going to secretly vote for them anyway. psychological warfare. etc
I think people intuitively understand that democratic candidates tossing trans kids to the wolves is not only morally repugnant but also politically ineffective, otherwise they wouldn't freak out every time someone said they weren't voting for a democrat who did this

it's *drastically* easier to build the voter will to replace a republican with a democrat than it is to replace a democrat with a more progressive democrat. if we let these motherfuckers in we lock in their transphobia. the party has to be shown this will sink their candidates.
Josh Turek of Iowa, Democrat, comes out with one of the worst anti-trans ads yet. Not only is it an anti-sports ad, it proposes a ban on federal funding for gender affirming care. That would hit all medicaid and medicare patients, and any ACA federally-subsidized plans as well. Horrific.

Trans women are understood by this mentality as foxes in the hen houses being constructed for womanhood (and simultaneously as barren women and failing in a duty of manhood). Trans men are treated as degenerate hosts refusing to yield their reproductive capacity owed to the racial community.
