I like to mend things and knit/crochet useful or fun things. I care deeply about almost everything. Ready to go but also…can’t. Irreverent but kind. Just the way I like it.

There’s entirely too much Lady Elaine Fairchilde hate and fear around here when really she was the rootinest tootinest sass artist of an anarchist, which is exactly what this world desperately needs. So there.

#showmeyourknits hat week…one of my first knits I actually liked. Sock weight yarn. Pattern is Sockhead Slouch Hat by Bohoknits, free on Ravelry, which I altered and knit with the Helix technique so I didn’t have to deal with a million skinny ends to weave in.

When I first saw this this morning, I wanted to spend all day watching it. I think from here on out, if I’m outside my house, I want this energy or nothing.

And here’s the trailer for BEING HEUMANN. In cinemas Nov 6, streaming on AppleTV Nov 13. I saw it last night at the London Film Festival & it’s a triumph.

That soul soothing feeling of climbing into your own bed after a week away from home…clean, smelling of just you, the cozy nest you’ve constructed. Nothing like it. Plenty other things are great too, don’t get me wrong. But this…ultimate. 💤

Sure, you’ve lived. But have you showered outdoors in the dark on the edge of a cliff above the wide open raging Atlantic ocean at midnight on the tail end of a New England fall Nor’easter on your 50th birthday? 🙌😌

Geez I knew that I’m *a lot* but it’s finding myself in a Zoom room of my peers, after decades of isolation or minimal socialization, that really makes it hit home for me today. And I do not like it. 😞

This should be required viewing for all human beings. Find it. Watch it. Thank you, PBS.

Ghost in the Machine - Independent Lens on PBS (YT) Artificial intelligence is now part of everyday life. But what forces created it? "Ghost in the Machine" traces the origins of "AI" and excavates the cultural, political, and philosophical drivers behind a worldwide "AI" boom.

Ah Jeopardy! is back. And just as important, for those of us in my part of Massachusetts , this means the return of (the formerly known as) Baby Richie, who we now will call Little Richie. You love to see it.

Oh my goodness Pawtucket may be resuscitable after all! 🥹 I never thought I’d live to see the day that the city where my heart developed would have a fighting chance. Yay for Pawtucket! 💚⚙️

I promised myself no more suffering needlessly to finish reading any leisure books that I’m not enjoying. Here I am though, halfway through the 2nd book of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. I’m not particularly enjoying the read, but I’m enjoying the story. Feels like one I need to see through.

When I was a kid, I thought my mother’s middle name was Joseph, and that she was always in trouble…on account of my frequently exasperated Gram, who was prone to angrily hiss-spitting “Jesus, Mary, and Joseph” and my mother’s first name being Marion.

Between stimulus and response lies a barely perceptible sliver of space. Recognizing it, and choosing well within it, defines your life.

A week for tying up loose ends, quite literally. Finished seaming the wretchedly tortuous granny square sweater I tried my hand at, despite not loving to crochet garments (request of my Auntie). Started mending a sleep eye mask. And blocked my Aran sweater and will start seaming that once dry. 🫥
