And just as a disclaimer: This is not actually a quote from Sir David Attenborough. That's just internet algorithms linking things for no apparent reason.

I had a dream last night where one of my cats accompanied me to my car while leaving for work. When I got to my car, she said "well, have a good day at work, I'm going back inside". and I thought "That's absurd, she doesn't have a key, I better go with her to let her back inside ..."

Over on the old hell-site, a picture popped up supposedly showing Trump kissing Natalie on the golf course (presumably in Doonbeg, Ireland last weekend). Someone AI enhanced that pic, and now MAGA is all "ooh look, it's obviously AI". However ...

... some MAGA have taken the approach that it's not actually Natalie, it's his granddaughter Kai. Because I guess to MAGA christofascists, cheating on your wife is really bad, but molesting your granddaughter is totally fine?

Perfection 👌 Let's hope the rules allow for it.

The people of Minneapolis have been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. The first time a city's population has ever been nominated.

It sounds like a good idea, until you think it through carefully, and realize you have to actually be able to cite specific laws being broken, then PROVE this beyond a reasonable doubt in a court. Then consider what the petulant man-child in the WH will do to Illinois while all this is playing out.

Greg Olear@gregolear.bsky.social

Serious question: What's stopping the State of Illinois from arresting Stephen Miller & charging him with incitement? The Senate didn't confirm him. He's just a guy. At some point, the states MUST use their authority to prosecute, because the federal government certainly will not.

So a judge letting a person who comitted 35 felonies walk free. Unthinkable. What about a judge who lets out a criminal comitting 34 felonies ... like Juan Merchan?

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

SCARBOROUGH: When law forbids troops from being used for crime prevention, do you have concern about Trump using military to fight 'the enemy within'? McCLAIN: Again, what's unfortunate is that we're even having this conversat- S: It's a simple question. Do you support troops doing crime control?

I was thinking about "The bank job" recently. A 2008 based-on-reality heist movie with Jason Statham about bankrobbers in 1971 stealing incriminating evidence about a British royal. The movie assumed lewd pics of princess Anne, but with recent Epstein revelations, prince Andrew seems more likely.

Like robots just parroting the line. The right-wing ecosphere has been doing this for decades. Get out the talking points and make sure everyone uses the same memorable slogan or catchphrase, because people will remember that and not the truth.

Right-wing Sinclair Broadcasting owns all these local media stations and many others all across America. This is not journalism, it is scripted propaganda.

A lot of people are going to learn a lot about Charlie Kirk tomorrow. They will read his own words and see video clips. Then they will ask why corporate America, the NY Yankees, the mainstream press, and MAGA valorized a man who spent his life committed to hate.

Look at this graph. The share of national income going to the richest 10 percent was lowest (and share to lower 90 percent highest) when union membership was at its highest. As unions have weakened, inequality has widened. This is why we must build back union power.

The first time Charlie Chaplin used his voice in a film, he wielded it to forcefully condemn the rising forces of fascism around the globe. Will we listen to his words today?

So yeah, don't do this. Throw balloons filled with nasty smelling stuff if you HAVE to throw something to feel better. But these little clips are all the average MAGA Fox viewer will see of what's happening, and they'll happily cheer on the marines as they shoot black and brown people next week...

This statement from Jonathan Joss's husband is heart breaking. No, headline writers, he wasn't "killed in an argument with a neighbor." He was *deliberately murdered* for being gay right after his dog was decapitated. Bet the murderer calls himself a "Christian." THIS is why Pride is important.

Yet another one of those things everyone saw coming even before the election: Zelensky won't just give up half his country because Trump asked nicely, and Putin is unlikely to settle for less either. Those who realized that (like Biden) understood supporting Ukraine was the only right thing to do.

Ron Filipkowski@ronfilipkowski.bsky.social

In other words, he promised repeatedly during the campaign he had a secret plan to end the war in 24 hours and he was just bullshitting everyone because he doesn’t have the first clue what to do, he gave away all negotiating leverage months ago, and his special envoy is a dope.

It seems the time is right for another (perhaps better informed this time) referendum on the matter ... #brejoin

Kristi Noem has been working with the producer of “Duck Dynasty” to pitch a reality TV show—titled “The American”—where immigrants will compete in a string of challenges across the country “for the honor of fast-tracking their way to U.S. citizenship,” according to a new report.

On the flip side, Hitler didn't begin deportations of "undesirables" until almost half a decade after first coming into power. So the Republicans are well ahead of the NAZIs in that regard ...

one thing that Democratic politicians should take note of is that the overlap between “great political optics” and “actual morally good stuff” is really big right now

I will admit I did not expect this outcome, but am very glad to hear he's still alive. Maybe this slide into fascism isn't irrevesible yet.

I said my main goal of this trip was to meet with Kilmar. Tonight I had that chance. I have called his wife, Jennifer, to pass along his message of love. I look forward to providing a full update upon my return.

A MORAL CRISIS “The rule of law is being trampled. Innocent people are being disappeared. Court orders are being ignored. If you claim to love this country—if you believe in the Constitution, due process, order, and justice—this must be your line in the sand.” Take 3 minutes. This is important.

In case you were wondering why China is able to make such good "imitations" of designer products: China coming right out and explaining that it's not THEM making copies of high-end brands, but rather the high-end brands having products made there and simply upmarketing them with their logos.
