Today 25th of April is the day of Liberazione. In Italy we celebrate the victory of the Resistenza against fascists and nazis in 1945. In Madrid we brought "un fiore ai partigiani morti per la libertà", some years before in Spain.
We read Calamandrei’s poem for Kesselring, the Nazi commander in Italy, convicted of war crimes, who, after his release in 1952, had the gall to say Italians should have “built him a monument.” 2/3
And we read two pages from “Asce di Guerra” by Wu Ming, describing a battle won by the Partigiani against Nazis.
