UK Quakers commit to continued, explicit trans inclusion. "...toilet facilities labelled with a 'female' sign remain available to cisgender women, trans women, and others for whom those facilities best align with their lived experience."

We should really work together, hand and hand, to focus all of our community’s poorly-suppressed and totally ruthless bullying energy on the single demographic we all agree actually deserves it: Harry Potter Adults in the year of our lord 2026

as any trans person will tell you, in britain "dignified" is code for "you aint getting healthcare"

I really don’t know what to say about this to be honest, but there it is

Ok, I think I'm back in control of my account. To anyone who followed me in the last month, I'm sorry to announce that the porn bot that managed to take over for a bit is no longer in business.

Tonight's dinner: bangers and mash, with fried onion, leek and spinach and saurcraut. Served with a sweet rhineland white wine and english mustard.

it was all fun and games humoring these upstart parties when the worst that was at stake was a tory getting in but at this point minor parties like labour should really stop running if all they're gonna do is to split the vote

Mark Chadbourn@chadbourn.bsky.social

Another one where a split vote let Reform through. Stockbridge (Knowsley) Council Election Result: RFM: 39.1% (+39.1) GRN: 29.1% (+12.2) LAB: 28.0% (-55.1) CON: 3.8% (+3.8) Reform gain from Labour.

Continually feeling vindicated in my distain for Dawkins. That was intially based entriely on vibes, so I'm just lucky he turned out to be a piece of shit.

The same thing has happened in Canada under MAiD. This is why I am so damn relieved the Scottish Parliament did not, despite campaigning from people who did not listen to DPOs, allow this. Without a society that genuinely values disabled people, including neurodivergent people, that has genuine

“Failed to learn” isn’t accurate. “Actively decided to continue to risk the lives of poor, marginalised and disabled people because the alternative is their pals in industry potentially making slightly less obscene profits” is.

Just in case you didn’t know, sex work is work, sex workers are overwhelmingly marginalised - women and/or queer folk, many are migrants, many are single parents, *many* are disabled and/or chronically ill, and all Workers deserve respect and safety. So glad to see a decent representation ❤️

The actual story here is that, as this government shuts down legal aid to access the labyrinthine asylum system and cuts legal routes to safety, people fleeing from horrendous abuses are increasingly at the mercy of people traffickers and crooks. But nope, anti-immigration BS only from the Beeb 🙄

Alasdair Mackenzie@alasdairmackenzie.bsky.social

So this is genuinely the extent of the BBC’s front-page “investigation”: they spoke to one alleged crook and recorded him boasting, one victim of apparently unrelated abuse, one non-immigration lawyer who “thinks” there’s a problem, and Jess Phillips. It’d be laughable if it weren’t so serious 7/

I suppose it’s useful that every few days a Reform politician will slither out and hiss something like ‘we would make it so you’ll be fined for owning an unpatriotic car’ or some shit, lets us dispense with the idea that anyone who ends up voting for them is anything other than a massive wanker.

It is suggested they should throw the ring into the sea: "Not safe for ever' said Gandalf '...And it is not our part here to take thought only for a season, or for a few lives of Men, or for a passing age of the world. We should seek a final end for this menace, even if we do not hope to make one."

I really butchered the editing of this, but the lesson remains: the threat of evil should not be delayed, or put off for someone else, for some other generation. We should seek to end it, so that future generations don't have to.
