I create materials for a living as a contract artist/freelancer. This is some of my work that i did for Scorn. More on my artstation. I'm pretty versatile with styles and topics but disgusting is definitely one of my favs. #substance3d #gamedev #gameart #gamedev #materials #textures #alien #horror

Been wrapping up some final renders for my most recent project. Here's a side by side breakdown of some of the water shaders I made for the project! :)) 🌊

Are there any gamers on Bsky with a disability or people in their circle who can share their experiences or point me to good resources/websites/products for one handed gaming (specifically left hand)? Also recommendations for games/systems that are disability friendly would be much appreciated.

As a game artist i hate the DLSS 5 stuff with every fiber of my being. It replaces the art that was crafted by an artist and sh*ts over it. In general, while not an anti AI absolutist, i'm against any img2img workflows for that reason. It's far crossing the line of what i find acceptable as a tool.

This is the first game that i have discovered via bsky exclusively. Really enjoying it so far. Reminds me of the sections in Death Stranding when you climb some mountains.

Time to climb! Cairn is available now. Mount Kami awaits, unconquered. This is what you trained for: fight for every meter of the climb and rise to the challenge.

First personal project of the year. Tiling bone pit mat. I use an atlas that i generated from a single photo with an experimental setup in Designer plus depth estimation (Moge2). I try to get close to Megascans quality with that but it's a bit hit and miss. #madewithsubstance #gameart #materials

Process animation from my Queen Victoria stamps substance. The portrait was based on the photo of a silver coin. Masks and hatching was generated procedurally inside Substance 3D Designer.

Retro Textures 1 is out now! 🎉 Completely free to download and use in any of your projects. Includes 115 textures like walls, floors, windows, doors and much more! kenney.nl/assets/retro... (no tracking, no ads, no sign-up, etc.)

Was searching for an account posting images of good looking pizzas for my interesting things starter pack. Apparently on bsky pizza means middle aged naked overweight dude. Every day i learn something new.

"Vous n’êtes sûrement pas passés à côté de cette simulation d’escalade aussi réaliste que punitive." "I'm sure you've heard of this climbing simulation thats as realistic as it is challenging." Thanks @psinsidefr.bsky.social ! Hard core climbing, coming up!

It’s incredibly humbling to be name dropped in someone’s portfolio day post and always a joy to see someone use some of my reference photos to make art. Go give Alex your support cos that’s some good work going on with that building and texturing.

Happy #PortfolioDay! 😄 I've been updating some old materials with stuff I've been learning since last year. Super happy to feel a lot more comfortable in Designer 🤓

last night : seeing the northern lights when they were this strong and visible (you could see all the shimmering and dancing with the naked eye, it was just a bit less colour saturated) was like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. utterly humbling and astonishing near Tromsø, Norway

You want to spread some positivity? Just highlight an artist or dev that’s inspired you and just get others to check them out. Don’t be afraid to talk about who you find inspiring and has influenced your work. We don’t work in a vacuum we are inspired by our peers so share that.

A little pipe project is coming to Designer soon if you're interested in learning how you can make your own ribbons in Substance Painter 😏

The algo on LinkedIn is pretty awful too. I hadn't properly used the site for a couple of years and was surprised to see a lot of interesting stuff from peers on my timeline. Only took 2-3 weeks of engaging and now it's almost all gAI sh*t and discussions.

Welcome (back) to everyone who will give bsky a(nother) go! Remember to curate your timeline for the things you really care about to make it nice and cozy here. Subscribe to lists, feeds and block lists. Use mute words for things that mess with your timeline (unlike Twitter they actually work here).

Yesterday was my 47th birthday. 2025 was maybe the worst year of my life. Struggled to find good work, had a very bad experience. The gig for Adobe saved the year professionally but coincided with my nephew nearly dying in a horror crash. He was in a coma and lost a leg. Not sure what 26 will bring.

My presets for a parametric Queen Victoria old British stamps substance. The portrait is based on normals and depth from a old silver coin but the hatching, masks and everthing else is generated procedurally. #madewithsubstance #textures #material #gameart

I tried to imitate a Hubble space image with Substance 3D Designer. This isn't part of my Substance Signature Collection but would have been a nice addition in hindsight. #madewithsubstance #gameart #procedural #space

A while ago, I asked people on bluesky to tell me the name of the movie Koyaanisqatsi without looking up the spelling. I made a musical algorithm based on the answers. I figure I owe you a demo of what it sounds like! It's for my game Rhytm Doggo: store.steampowered.com/app/4090240/...

Nifflas@nifflas.bsky.social

Looking for the name of a movie. IMPORTANT: You must NOT look its spelling up It's a 1982 non-narrative documentary-like film that mixes slow-motion with time lapses, first scenes of nature, then scenes of cityscapes and people Your answers will drive an algorithm in my adaptive music software
