Some unhinged comments and quote posts on this. Machine learning with artificial neural networks has transformed the environmental sciences, and rightly deserved the 2024 Nobel Prize in Physics. This isn’t using a chatbot to predict hurricanes.

As someone who covered Robodebt in part, it's clear nothing has really changed. Worse: the politics of federal Labor on social security are baffling. We keep hearing about how people have "lost trust in institutions". Wiping these debts seem a simple answer to help. Instead, they rewrote the rules.

Among the many things climate change deniers don’t understand is significance. They spend years looking for errors in climate data but don’t understand that what they find is almost always insignificant. It’s also why they’ll never be satisfied by any rigorous report on climate data.

The Australian newspaper has been claiming a "forensic audit report" shows BoM's temperature data has "widespread error". For 15 years climate sceptics have been claiming a conspiracy around the data. Is anything different this time?

Remember David Evans (one of the 'skeptics' referenced in @readfearn.bsky.social's article) is a lunatic conspiracy theorist who thinks global warming is a scam concocted by Jewish Bankers to crash the global financial system. See web.archive.org/web/20160331... #AusPol #ClimateChange

50,000 deaths from heatwaves; without countries like Australia (one of the biggest exporters of coal) taking action, this number will only increase. So I hope Albo has something meaningful to say when he jets off to Turkey for the global climate conference.

The warming will continue until we reach net zero emissions. At which point, we will need to live with whatever climate we’ve ended up in. The sooner we reach net zero, the less extreme that climate will be, and the easier and less costly it will be to adapt to it.

The average age of a car on the road in America has now passed 13 years. This is a new record high, and comes after the cost of both new and used cars has soared. The average new car in the U.S. costs just over $50,000, while the average price for a used vehicle is over $27,000.

I wish the media would provide more scrutiny to this sad bunch of grifters, spivs, cookers and lunatic conspiracy theorists. Piping Sky After Dark into the regions for free has made a huge impact on our body politic. We are only just beginning to deal with the fall-out.

This demonstrates much that's wrong with Labor politics [and media reporting it]: Unquestioning loyalty is framed as "discipline". Alternative views are "complaints". This has delivered us: - the stupidity of #AUKUS - complicity in a genocide, and - 'reform' that's put donors before people. #auspol
