Emily aka Foaly

Hi! I'm Emily, aka Foal Papers ("Foaly") in fandom spheres and Pet Emily elsewhere. I'm trans, non-binary, and many flavors of queer; I'm as geeky and kinky as the day is long; and I have my very own brain weasels, with whom I'm slowly becoming friends. Welcome to my random reflections and joys. :-)

You deserve to be here🫂🐦‍⬛🐥

Made a thing about feeling like you’re “in trouble” as an adult

24th of Owltober! Samantha the Barred Owl is burrito-wrapped so her carers can trim her beak and talons. She was an ambassador owl at a bat clinic (Save the Bats) which is fitting because today begins Bat Conservation Week (24-31 Oct). Source: instagram.com/p/BeioOkLBXpM/ #owlsintowels #owltober 💛🦉🦇

SCOOP: 'Tommy' from the now-viral exchange with Abdul El-Sayed is Thomas Teepell, a former staffer for Republican Senator Josh Hawley with close ties to Christian Nationalist Sean Feucht. He's the son of a former Bobby Jindal staffer whose consultant work was instrumental in getting Hawley elected.

This is Tommy. Tommy had a question about my allegiances. Listen to the end to hear about his.

Straight cisgender people for years have painted gays as shy nervous little cinnamon rolls who wants to kiss their bestie. But the minute they see the bondage gears and leathers comes out, they lose their shit that their delusional fantasy is ruined.

The whole world is covered with buttons, and not one of them is mine!

As many of you have read, Ashleigh Ball posted on Instagram about her fight against breast cancer and her life with it. If you want to show your support, check out this cancer research campaign she shared leftonfriday.com/blogs/epic-g... or donate via mygiving.bccancerfoundation.com/page/FUNNPUJ...

So we fly a pride flag in our front yard in a very conservative neighborhood and it’s been there for the last few years. Someone put this in our mailbox and my goodness…

For extra irony: The late Aaron Swartz and OpenAI’s Sam Altman were classmates in 2005, in YCombinator. The two of them are literally side by side in the photo below. From: flaminghydra.com/sam-altman-a...

love how mapquest is leaning into a new sense of purpose in the 2020s

It's revealed Ashleigh Ball, voice of Rainbow Dash & Applejack is diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. So far in this video her treatment is going very well and she's doing her best to still doing what she loves and wishing to see her kids grow up. Our thoughts and prayers go to you, Ashley. ❤️

A reminder for those at the back.

"Thank you for everything you've taught me," said Milo to everybody as a tear rolled down his cheek.

This picture will always be iconic. RIP Margaret Hamilton who wrote the software that successfully guided NASA’s Apollo missions through the moon.

We are a month away from a major US election. Most of the Internet is being botted, sockpuppeted, and astroturfed right now, especially with AI agents out in force. Be highly critical and skeptical of what you see online, at the absolute minimum for the next month.

Internet losers have it all wrong, if you want the girl version of "rich kid from an old magical family who rivals the protagonist at wizard school" then Diana Cavendish is right there and is a way better character. Anyway watch Little Witch Academia.

📝 New blog post: A Brief Reintroduction sarahstreza.com/2026/10/01/a...

A brief reintroduction. My name is Sarah. I am a software engineer, a small business owner, a VTuber fan, a tinkerer, a patron of the arts, and a woman. I have been known as another name and gender before, but as of today, that is no more. #introduction

A friend I’ve known a decade admitted she might not be as sapphic as she thought and invited me on a date, and then I got to hear about her being teased (kindly) by partners because of her first ‘boydate’ and it makes my heart swell. Everyone is so precious ❤️🐴

Tim Curry and Dolly Parton have taught us not only that you should be bigger, weirder, gayer, and freakier, but also that those qualities are what people will love about you. The things that make you strange and amazing are the things that will resonate with other strange and amazing people

Genuinely some of the saddest news I can imagine. Dolly was beloved by all- people, ducks and mice. She's the only person whose heart is so pure she could honk Minnie's nose and get away with it. We have truly lost one of the most beautiful souls to walk this earth beside us.

It's not the ~worst~ thing tech bros have done, but I hate how they have absolutely killed any enthusiasm I've ever had for robots I should ~love~ little metal guys and instead I now roll my eyes and go "ugh" every time I see one because I know it'll be bringing some new terrible bullshit
